About this deal

also ps, ryle deserved much MUCH worse - it’s been 6 years since i read IEWU and the only thing he gained was the fucking audacity. Experience the romantic and satisfying conclusion to Colleen Hoover's powerful global bestselling novel, It Ends with Us. Everything about this book annoyed me; from lack of plot and bland characters, to commentary devoid of nuance and whole sections of the first book copied and pasted into the text.

Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place. He requests to start having overnights with Emerson, but Lily asserts that Emerson will not be allowed to stay with Ryle overnight until she is old enough to speak. There is a mismatch between both narrators’ calm, professional narration and the disturbing verbal and physical behaviors Ryle displays. lily and atlas didn’t really have a foundation of their relationship (which is ironic because atlas talks about ryle and lily’s relationship this way as well) other than the fact that they both had a bad childhood. Meanwhile, Josh, the half brother Atlas never knew he had, enters Atlas’s life, and Atlas takes him in, hoping to finally have a real family.

I’ll admit; the discussion around abuse in this book wasn’t AS bad as in ‘It Ends With Us’, but it still felt pretty one dimensional and pissed me off at times. For new readers, their history unfolds in heartfelt diary entries that Lily addresses to Finding Nemo star Ellen DeGeneres as she considers how Atlas was a calming presence during her turbulent childhood. speaking of plot points manufactured to make lily and atlas seem like they had more in common: the brother thing came out of fucking nowhere. But her excitement is quickly hampered by the knowledge that, though they are no longer married, Ryle is still very much a part of her life-and Atlas Corrigan is the one man he will hate being in his ex-wife and daughter's life.

alternatively titled: a bland man does the bare minimum and people eat it up like he’s an austen character. Why would Ryle hate Atlas if you didn’t cheat on him 🥺🥺” idk girl maybe it’s because he’s abusive, which you have known for years now! Colleen Hoover takes us on a whole new emotional rollercoaster, this time, switching between the perspective of Atlas and Lily as they navigate friendship, love and a very jealous ex-husband. Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants.Lily refuses to speak with him alone, saying she will only converse with him if Allysa and her husband Marshall are there. like if you can’t handle seeing a one star review or acknowledging that people have different opinions, then don’t read one star reviews! Marianka Swain of The Daily Telegraph gave the novel 2 out of 5 stars, describing Hoover's writing quality as "closer to Fifty Shades of Grey, a strange mix of twee and graphic, plus the added irritant of solemn therapy-speak pronouncements. Colleen Hoover tells fan favourite Atlas’s side of the story and shares what comes next in this long-anticipated sequel to It Ends with Us. I would like to think that women in Lilly's position, has a profession and support, would not tolerate abuse.
