DO NOT take Gaviscon Double Action Tablets if you know you are allergic to any of the ingredients as very rarely difficulty in breathing and skin rashes have occurred. Taking large doses of calcium carbonate every day for prolonged periods can lead to high levels of calcium in the blood. Gaviscon Double Action Mint Flavour Chewable Tablets are used for the treatment of symptoms of gastro-esophageal reflux such as acid regurgitation, heartburn and indigestion which may occur, for example, following meals or during pregnancy, and for symptoms of excess stomach acid (hyperacidity). These tablets contain three active ingredients calcium carbonate, sodium alginate and sodium bicarbonate.

These chewable tablets are available in delicious strawberry and peppermint flavours and are suitable for anyone over the age of 12. Gaviscon’s liquid formulation does not contain sugar or gluten and you can take this product if you are pregnant or breast-feeding while benefiting from dual relief from heartburn and indigestion.They are effective treating these symptoms from a number of causes, such as eating spicy, fatty, or rich meals, medical conditions that cause excess stomach acid, or pregnancy. It creates a protective barrier or raft over the irritating stomach content (which is mostly acid, but also pepsin and bile). If you experience these or any other side effects while using this product, stop use and speak to your doctor or pharmacist right away. If you are taking any other medications, you should not take Gaviscon Tablets within the 2 hours after you’ve taken your other medication.
