About this deal

Some of the technologies we use are necessary for critical functions like security and site integrity, account authentication, security and privacy preferences, internal site usage and maintenance data, and to make the site work correctly for browsing and transactions. There are so many alternative ways to improve manual dexterity at home, like playdough games, painting, washing berries, picking grains with fingers or gardening. I bought this for my grand-daughter because it was such a unique presentation of learning small motor skills. The gift is a little advanced for his 13 month old hands but he still loves it and plays with it daily. With this type of learning resources on a regular basis, children master their locks and latches skills by the age of 5.

Great variety of latches and my son enjoys talking about the animals/numbers hidden behind each of the doors. My 14 month old granddaughter started manipulating the latches the minute she saw them, even though she is quite a bit younger than the recommended age of 3+.His 4-year old sister is also very interested in this toy and the children can each work on a latch while sharing the board.

I love to watch the 2-3 year olds trying to figure out the latches and the surprise when the door opens. Undo a latch, swing open the numbered door, and count on fun when the picture beneath is revealed on this wooden play board. This item is great for learning different animals, you could use puppets along with the board to make it more engaging.

Talk about the colours, encourage language development and open the door as a reward for getting the correct colour to reveal the animal inside. My son loves to play with puzzles and locks and this latch puzzle is wonderful for him because it lets him play with the locks without possibly hurting himself on doors where the locks normally are. It enables him to open and shut all the latches, and keeps us happy to cause he isn't always messing with all the other latches around the house trying to get into them. Doesn't play with it quite as much as I expected, but does play with it a lot, if that makes any sense. Kids will delight in discovering what's hiding behind the locked and latched panels on this wooden play board and educational toy in one.

She has fun figuring our how to get the doors open and she loves finding the cute animal characters behind the doors. We used Benjamin Moore’s Citron, which is one of the colors leftover from book projects last January (it’s also the same color we used on the back of our giant chalkboard). The item challenges her but also keeps her interest and is the perfect toy to work on hand coordination and other fine motor skills.
