I bought a little bottle of this wine to try and I was quite surprised it was smooth and slightly sweet , I hate dry wine . A versatile wine that goes well with most dishes, it's especially rewarding with tomato based Italian and spicy Asian food. Palate - Following this is the wonderful flavours of spicy plum, cherry and blackberry that flow through on the palate with a lingering smooth and spicy finish. Fermenting at cooler temperatures allows the fruit flavours to be nurtured and enables retention of varietal characteristics. The description does nor indicate whether it is a Malbec, Shiraz, etc, but based on other wines I drink it is closest to a Malbec. Every bottle of McGuigan Black Label is packed full of flavour and is your comforting reward for switching off.Rounded vanilla, caramel and chocolate flavours balanced with persistent rich ripe fruity plum, cherry, and blackberry jam flavours.

My parents first discovered this wine in N Ireland over 20+ years ago and I've been drinking it ever since! After making his name with the Black Label range, he has expanded his output to include a range of styles and varieties, all made with the care and charisma for which he is famed.
