Tarah DeWitt’s Funny Feelings is a charming romance novel that reignited my love for the single-dad trope. not to mention, the two of them were always friends; and, even though they became lovers, that dynamic only shifted/didnt notably change. In FUNNY FEELINGS, Farley is a comedian who is generally unapologetic about her rambunctiousness and dirty jokes. FF follows Farley (Fee) an up and coming comedienne, to take the next step in her career a suggestion is made that she might “fake date” her manager Meyer who had his own comedic success at an earlier age but leans more into writing now as he balances working with being a single dad to his deaf daughter Hazel (totes book MVP btw she is legit the best! I have learned this from experience, but I still falter at the crowd’s response, just slightly, before pressing on.He’s kind and compassionate and empathetic—he’s supportive and wholesome with such a natural warmth that’s comforting throughout the novel.

Babysitting the team troublemaker when he’s forced to volunteer for the foundation where I work means I can’t exactly avoid him.Each step I take toward the side stage has me sliding down from an adrenaline mountain, and it’s jarring and dreadful.

They were a family before Meyer or Farley could admit they wanted to be, and they fit so seamlessly into each other's lives that it could only have been fate that brought them together. The author’s writing is impressive, and I thoroughly enjoyed the ride that was Farley and Meyer’s romance. From day one Farley treated her as a person and not a Deaf Person, and she was the soft and fun to Meyer’s stern and clueless and I loved their relationship from day one. Summary: Farley Jones has an opportunity to take her stand up comedy to the next level when a pair of A-list comedians invite her to join their tour. It's gotta be something, because I've never been a huge fan of the romance genre, but you wouldn't believe me at all after looking at what I've read this month.Lyrical and poetic and everything I hoped for after falling for Roman and Iris so deeply in book one. Today’s review is about FUNNY FEELINGS by Tarah DeWitt, a contemporary romance that I couldn’t put down. Written in the 1950s the book stands the test of time with its intricate plot and strong female characters. Also getting to see them go from friends to lovers gave me butterflies, I was so invested in their story and the way it ended was so beautiful.

And I loved how Meyer was kind of pining the whole time for Farley and his character was just THE BEST. From the very beginning, Funny Feelings by Tarah DeWitt encompasses a security that gorgeously threads throughout the story. I loved that we got to see how Farley hides behind her humor, and there was a great focus on mental health and an openness about therapy. It totally could be my current mood because I’ve been having a really shitty reading month and I’m in somewhat of a slump… or it could have been the book.but sometimes i wish he’d been bolder, more forward, and spontaneous with his love language (physical touch/affection) without overthinking the h’s reaction or how it was going to be received. I also loved the place that therapy has in this book, and how the importance of it was mentioned many times. I don't know if it's February, and love is in the air, or if I just got lucky and somehow picked up some of the best romances ever written this month.
