There are lots of amiibo that are compatible with Breath of the Wild. Some of them feature rare armor sets or entirely new features added to the game. Here’s a peek at the full amiibo functionality for The Legend of Zelda: BoTW. You can capture and ride Epona in Breath of the Wild as long as you have the Twilight Link Smash Bros. amiibo. You’ll want to scan the amiibo into the game when you’re near a stable, as Epona is a wild horse. The stablehand instantly recognizes Epona and she is registered as such in the stable. Nintendo made sure the amiibo rewards for Breath of the Wild were awesome. But there are some compatible amiibo that don’t grant exclusive rewards. You can still use these amiibos to farm for ingredients. Here’s a short look at what each amiibo does in BoTW. Potential Chest Items: A chance of one of the three pieces of the Hero of the Sky Set ( Cap of the Sky, Tunic of the Sky, Trousers of the Sky), Goddess Sword, assorted weapons & shields, elemental arrows Whistle (same way Link calls to a horse) to interrupt Wolf Link's current action and have him return to Link. Since he can only be targeted to tell him to stay when he is close, this is helpful. A last ditch effort to get him to return is to resummon him with the amiibo, which will work even if he is still currently summoned. This is recommended if he is about to get himself killed chasing a Guardian Stalker for instance, as those can kill even a 20-heart Wolf Link in two hits. And if all else fails, to keep him alive - and so avoid the daily timer before he can be summoned again following a death - warp somewhere. As long as Wolf Link is still alive when Link warps, he can be resummoned.

In Twilight Princess HD, the Wolf Link amiibo, along with the Super Smash Bros. series of Zelda amiibo, are all compatible. amiibo can be scanned on the collection screen once light has been restored to the Faron Province. [24]

Amiibo can be scanned once per day and the interface to do so is in the Sheikah Slate. The amiibo rune is not active and listed, you must turn it on in the options menu. The Effects of Amiibo Get Exclusive Items amiibo functionality was added to Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS in the Version 1.0.5 patch, which was released on February 10, 2015 worldwide; Super Smash Bros. for Wii U had amiibo functionality at launch.

The Rupee; Ganon's Outfit; Ganondorf's Wig, Ganondorf Outfit and Ganondorf Pants (all three based on Ocarina of Time Ganon); and Bomb can be obtained from Ganon's RV.

If you are using a Pro Controller instead of the one that came with your Switch, please note that some non-original controllers do not have an NFC area. Scanning the Sheik amiibo, Ocarina of Time Link amiibo, Majora's Mask Link amiibo, or Link (Rider) amiibo brings Epona, a peppy horse villager based on Epona. Her birthday (November 21) is the day Ocarina of Time was released in Japan. All amiibo will work with Breath of the Wild, even ones that are not related to the Zelda series. However, non-Zelda amiibo will simply give random items and have no specific exclusives.
