I really am loving the DI Fawley series but I thought this plot was not as exciting as the previous 2. You can read it as a standalone without revealing spoilers from the first two books, but if you’ve yet to pick up an Adam Fawley; just start from the beginning.

I found it a more effective impact to create the impression that major and essential information was driven from a news source or police report. It's long been one of my principles - never join a series that's already established if you're planning on reviewing the book as it might not be fair on the author or the potential reader, but I seem to be breaking it on a regular basis at the moment. Not only is the reader made privy to every one of the multiple lines of inquiry, the thinking of the team and their suspicions, there is the opportunity to see all aspects of one major incident being investigated from start through to ultimate closure.
