This helps the designer to achieve the difficult designs by draping different fabrics. For designs like cowls this method can be used which gives good results. Draping is the most creative way for a fashion designer to turn design ideas into reality. To create new garment design, designer can draped fabric using a design sketch as a basis. After complete the draping process, fabric is removed from the dress form and it used to create the sewing pattern for the garment. With the Rod Loop Tape acting as the “channel” for the rod, the top hem can be fully sewn closed giving the top of the curtain panel maximum stability. In fact, with many décor weight fabrics, this traditional deep, double hem will probably be all that’s needed to keep the top of the curtain panel straight and stable. Even with lighter weight fabrics, a single layer of Header Tape would be enough to properly stiffen the top edge when using a Rod Loop Tape. The raw edges of your draping should be hidden in the seams. At this point, you can remove your basting stitches.

Before draping, muslin may have to be re-shaped so that yarns of the crosswise and lengthwise grains are at perfect right angels to each other. To re-shaped muslin, pull the edges diagonally until the fabric is squared.

Draping is a most ancient and popular form of clothing.
