About this deal

In this episode of The Ranveer Show, we have Rithwik Subramanya; an MBA graduate from the University of Bath, one of the premier institutes in Europe. He is the owner of Subbu Publications which is dedicated to promoting Indian ethos, tradition & values and this publication has published over 50 books and has 20+ scholars in its portfolio. He also runs a baking & food processing company that has spread across Karnataka with 18 stores. That is exactly the high station that the Gita speaks of, which the Lord explains to Arjuna, and which unfortunately we have largely disregarded as a Nation in our pursuit of otherworldly transcendence.

Naturally, given the setting, it is but expected that the Gita defines and stresses the need for action as appropriate and consummate with the environment and the arrangement of Guna-s in the mind-body of the individual, and his aptitude, for that sets the swabhava, and this, in turn, leads to that most powerful and relevant term that the Lord stresses so sumptuously during his discourse: swadharma. For good or bad, the Indic view has been dominated by the theory of karma over a millennium now, percolating down intocommonculture and often degenerating into some sort of fatal resignation to forces unseen and things less understood. It is contentious and indeed debatable if this karma-phala-centric worldview really reflects the philosophy and spirituality of the ancient Rishis, or is a lateral induction into our thought-sphere from the other two spiritual philosophies that were born in this land,Buddhismand Jainism. Karma and its repercussions hold a central doctrinal position in their explanation of life and its aims, while in the Vedic philosophy, karma-phala, though important, was not the central axis on which the worldview must revolve. How else does one explain that fact that while Lord Rama had to perform penance for the killing of the Brahmin born rakshasa, Ravana, to ameliorate the karmaa-phala incurred by such an act, he displayed no trace of hesitation to fight the war on this account? Or Lord Krshna’s brushing aside the objections raised by a reluctant Arjuna in the battle-field ofKurukshetra, when the later takes recourse to the logic that killing ones Guru’s and kin is an act of sin. The Bhagwata Gita is undoubtedly one of the earliest andprofoundesttexts of Vedic spirituality, and definitely much older than the various other Gitas that surfaced during the medieval era. It gives a much better glimpse into the early Aryan mindset. Worrying about Karmaphala was surely prevalent, but it was never the central doctrine of the Aryan spiritual life; dharma and its variants (swadharma et al) were more fundamental and the true guide to life, which makes logical sense because one can never really claim to know for sure how the flow of karmas are working, unless one claims omniscience, whichwould of coursebe absurd. The Gita proclaims, This was an in-depth conversation about the India and Pakistan partition. We also talked about the Pakistan's history post-independence. I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did and tell us your opinions in the comments! Based on experiences and interactions with different Yogis and Sadhaks, the book also contains an exploration of some common and uncommon deities from various branches of Hinduism. Of course, the term swadharma has been interpreted variedly by learned commentators, but the most general thrust from a direct reading of the text seems to suggest a more broad dictum, a duty that is individualistic and a function of one swabhava, as per an individual’s judgment of dharma.

In this episode of The Ranveer Show, we welcome again; Anand Ranganathan who is a scientist and the author of some amazing books like The Land of the Wilted Rose 2012, For Love and Honour 2015, and The Rat Eater 2019 (co-authored). His forthcoming book is on India's Forgotten Scientists 2023 (co-authored). Yes, you guessed it right. Note also that the Gita never speaks of Nirvana, it only says Brahma-nirvana. Are these two the same? If not, what differences and why? Literally, the word nirvāṇa indicates a sort of blowout or extinguishment. While Brahma-nirvana is blowing out *into the Brahman*. The difference is vital and consistent with the philosophy of the earliest Upanishad-s and the Gita. While the popular conception remains that Krshna was an incarnation of Vishnu, who in his past life was Rama, it may be argued in a sense that the avesha of the Avatara came to the son of Dasaratha, thus marking his avartaratwa, for a purpose suited to his life and times, and the same avaratatwa leaves him before his physical demise, and again incarnates on earth in the form of Krshna. But this trajectory of dharma, or yoga of karma, is not the only unique idea in the Gita. The second most brilliant idea is that of the Purushottama. While the Upanishadic ideas have the story of the two birds on a tree, one eating and enjoying, while the other stoically watching, the Gita uses similar imagery to describe the two status of the Purusha in man and then goes onto add a third important condition – the purushottamah, that is even greater than the kshara and akshara purusha, where the Divine experience is both static and dynamic. This episode was about decoding the complete history of Pakistan post-independence. We talked about various aspects of Pakistan and the mindset of people there. Tilak sir dwelled upon the leadership of Muhammad Ali Jinnah & Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and how they changed the dynamics of Pakistan. He further talks about the 1971 War and decodes Pakistan's geopolitical narrative.

We also delved into the fascinating world of gemstones and crystals. Rajarshi sir explained how these natural elements can amplify certain energies and help balance your karma. But remember, it’s not a one-size-fits-all solution; you need expert guidance to know which gemstone is right for you. In today’s episode of The Ranveer Show, we have Raghavan Srinivasan. He is an author, a political commentator, and someone who is keenly interested in Indian literature. He is well-versed in the Chola Dynasty and is here to explain the history of the Chola empire on TRS. This theological fix also helps us understand how both Parashurama and Rama – two Vishnu Avatar-s – could co-exist, and not only coexist but also meet, where the Shakti of the former gets transferred to the later and with it the avataratwa too. Interestingly, while many other forms and deities are representative powers of various other-worldly ideas, or specific aspects of the world of duality, or supernal glories of a world of mystical and occult reality, or just a release into the life-denying reality of Moksha, Nara and Nārāyaṇa are supposed to be a Divine pair meditating on, well, dharma.

Rajarshi Nandy - Pragyata

While Dambodbhava was initially amused because he soon realized that the two actually form an inseparable combination and the spiritual power and devotion of one would supplant the strength of the other. In this way 999 of his kavacha-s were destroyed until finally the last one was left when the cycle of creation came to an end. Yes, semen retention can help your yogic practice. But the goal shouldn’t be that everything will work only by following celibacy. The four goals of life which need to be followed are dharma, artha, kama, and moksha. My viewpoint on celibacy is not to force it but follows decorum. You should have an idea of how much to indulge and how much you shouldn’t. Like in our ancient text, a married man having a physical relationship with his wife is also celibacy.” Lord Hanuman is believed to be immortal. So he is believed to respond faster to prayers. That is why Hanuman Chalisa is so powerful. Many practices involve the chanting of Hanuman Chalisa. If you chant Hanuman Chalisa with pure devotion and faith, follow celibacy, offer some food to lord Hanuma, and chant the name of Lord Rama, you will see some transformation within 40 days.” That Krshna and Vasudeva were separate individuals, the Bhagwatam does not deny and is common knowledge. Later his father’s name was added to his name and thus he became Krshna Vasudeva. What is so extraordinary about that? In the Gita, Krishna uses a poignant phrase – vasudevam sarvam iti– during his colloquy in the battlefield, which clearly establishes that he was identified as Krshna Vasudeva right from the time of the Mahabharata war. Both Krshna and Vasudeva were never deified, only Krshna was. His father plays an insignificant role in the itihasaafter he and his wife Devaki were released from Kamsa’s prison. But, he must do so with detachment, such that no sin clings to the soul, even if it were a terrible act of slaying one’s preceptors, as the circumstances demand. For dharma of an individual trump overall interpersonal or societal equations, if progress is the aim of the jiva.

Rajarshi Nandy

Probably one of the most revered loved and worshiped god among Hindus is the 8th son of Vasudeva, the 8th Avatara of Vishnu, and the reincarnation of Rishi Nārāyaṇa, who, along with Nara is supposed to be engaged in meditation in the area where the temple of Badri Vishal is located. Shri Rajarshi Nandy is a Sadhaka par excellence and an adherent of the Sanatan Dharma. He is a speaker, columnist, and author of Hindu spiritual practices. He has co-authored a paper named \”Tantra and Modern Neuroscience: Is there any co-relation?\” which was published in Neurology India magazine. If, as the author claims, the Mahabharata came earlier and at a later date “brahmins seized upon the devotional cult of Vasudeva-Krishna”, then why exactly does the Mahabharata contain glorious references to Krishna? Not to mention the 10 thand 11 thchapter of the Gita where Krshna gets equated to the status of the Supreme Divinity of the Vedic people. In the 43 rdchapter of the Bhisma Parva, Vaisampayana, a brahmin priest officiating at the yagya ritual, considers the Gita as “Sarvashastramayi” – containing all the scriptures.

The unpredictability of spiritual life - Pragyata The unpredictability of spiritual life - Pragyata

I was an average engineering student with no interest in this practice. Once I had an experience where I was in a Durga pooja, and suddenly for a few seconds, my mind entered a zone. Normally, during Durga pooja, there is a lot of noise, but for those few seconds, I felt everything stopped, and I could see the deity. It just felt real, and I can’t describe it. Then I thought it is just a delusion.”This was a very special episode for me because of the kind of information that I gained from this conversation. Milind Deora is someone who has studied the ins and outs of the Indian government and is here to share his unbiased opinions. Tantra is a wide range of methods of worship to the deity. It is not about sex, meat, or alcohol. These could help you, but they are not the goal. The goal is to succeed in the practice of the deity. Each god is a deity. We believe in various gods. Tantra relates to more of worship of Shakti.” Claim 1: “Vasudeva were originally heroes of the Satvatta and Vrishni tribes of the Yadava clan who were eventually deified and with time, became synonymous with each other. “
