About this deal

The use of various materials allows a suitable containment of noise pollution, even on a noisy switch of nature like the MX Blue is. Vortex offers a very extensive variety of switches to sit on your little or big fingers. The Vortex Race 3 keycaps are always in the SP DSA format, a flat form that is exempt from row formats, with centered lettering printed by Dye-Sublimation technology Press and hold both Alt keys to erase any programming on the entire keyboard aside from L0. This too will be shown by the left space bar LED flashing white for 5 seconds, after which you can also stop holding the two keys.

It feels like you have to go further with your fingers to reach the keys on their top, despite their flat profile. It’s just a matter of getting used to it in a few hours of use, just as it was the first time you used a mechanical keyboard. Reset everything by pressing L3+R1 for 5 seconds. Left LED will blink white color while you're holding the keys. Release them after it stopeed blinking.

Whoops!

I really wouldn't trust the micro-USB port to last very long if you have to do "insertion cycles" with it often for travel or whatever. Say you want to program layer L1. The left LED under the space bar will have the red light under it as seen above, and the following are the steps for programming: The choice of the SP DSA profile may, in the first few times of use, seem uncomfortable to those who have already acquired their habits on sculpted silhouettes (OEM, Cherry, etc.). Manual doesn't come included, and the one you find online is terrible and actually refers you to another board's manual. If this is your first all-hardware mechanical keyboard with complex lighting, you will be a bit lost amidst the minimal information and poor translations. If you don't know the entire glossary of mech terms already (say you're coming from Corsair or something mainstream), you're screwed and left to search through online tutorials

The format of the Vortex Race 3 is 75% features a full aluminum case bottom and anodized top plate, PBT Dye-Sub keycaps and Cherry MX switches. If this sounds familiar, it is because this is the exact same procedure as on the Vortex Core and their Poker line of keyboards. Thus, there are once again some limitations. For instance, you cannot re-program the keys that allow you to toggle between layers. You also cannot re-program right Control since it is used to activate and exit programming mode. Despite its flaws it's still my favorite keyboard to use, nothing has broken in the 9 months I have owned it. (which is what you would expect) The same goes for the right Shift key, which measures 1.75U instead of 2.25U. Similarly, the Alt Gr, Fn, and Right Ctrl keys are in 1U format instead of 1.5.To start with, you will need to access the different options with the Pn key. There are several available: off, constant, breathing, raindrops, activation, etc. Time delays between key strokes are supported, and that is where the Fn + descript comes in. Fn + T gives you 15 ms of delay each time pressed, Fn + G gives you a 0.1 s delay each time pressed, and Fn + B gives you a 0.5 s delay each time pressed. Each consecutive time delay will add up, and you can use combinations as you please, but they will only count as one key stroke per delay between key strokes and won't cut into your allocation of 32 key strokes past the first stroke. Love the keyboard. Perfect for work, now I just need a matching numpad and its the perfect setup for what I need it to do. Using the online MPC I generated a Vortex.cys file. According to the instructions I should copy this file to the keyboard (unplug keyboard and press "Fn+D"). This does not work. Has anyone had any success updating firmware from Win 10? Device manager recognizes the keyboard, but the KB upgrade doesn't seem to (the Okay key is blanked out).
