These two points aren't to drive you away from sharing the book with your children, but just so that you can make an informed decision of when you want to share it with them. There is nudity in the illustrations. Nothing vulgar. Just that in a couple of panels, the pubic area of human males and females is depicted. There are some panels with breasts shown. This form of introducing history ,although novel does have its advantages,it does make one think.as should all accounts of our past. Yuval Harari interviewed by Alan Philps about his book, The World Today, September 2015, Volume 71, Number 5.

The Unification of Humankind (c. 34 CE, the gradual consolidation of human political organizations towards globalization). graphic novel για μικρούς και μεγάλους. The new instalment sees Harari travel “the length and breadth of human history to investigate how the Agricultural Revolution changed society forever”, Vintage said. “Readers discover how wheat took over the world, how war, famine, disease and inequality became a part of the human condition, and why we might only have ourselves to blame.I thought about giving this book an extra star because of that, but I gave it the same rating I did the first because the first one kept my attention better. I’m not sure if the characters and framing devices were less interesting in this one or if I’m just less interested in the period of history it covers.

The 10,000 Year Explosion: How Civilization Accelerated Human Evolution ( Gregory Cochran and Henry Harpending) I definitely was not a fan of the artwork, although that might be polished up by the time this thing actually hits the shelves. Well yes, the book is heavy for a graphic novel, but considering what Sapiens was, this is perfect for those who want an insight into it without struggling through the intense content. Especially for those who aren't too crazy about nonfiction, this graphic novel will be a great way to know Harari's theories. The graphic novel series, which is expected to be published in five volumes, was launched in autumn 2020 with Volume 1 - The Birth of Humankind, focusing on the “Cognitive Revolution”. Volume 2 will be published on 14th October and can be read as a standalone or as a follow-up. Anthropologist Christopher Robert Hallpike reviewed the book and did not find any "serious contribution to knowledge". Hallpike suggested that "...whenever his facts are broadly correct they are not new, and whenever he tries to strike out on his own he often gets things wrong, sometimes seriously". He considered it an infotainment publishing event offering a "wild intellectual ride across the landscape of history, dotted with sensational displays of speculation, and ending with blood-curdling predictions about human destiny." [23] I really enjoyed the first book, but I didn’t agree with the significance it assigned to fictions, and I was confused by the way the author was using the term. This book delved much deeper into the concept of fictions and successfully convinced me of their importance. I feel like I have a much better understanding of the concept than I did after the first book, which introduced the concept as something important without really explaining why.

In Sapiens: A Graphic History, Harari's ideas continue to help us understand global events and participate in our times' most important conversations – but now in vivid colour with Casanave's illustration magic. It is beyond argument nowadays that the comic book can be enjoyed by adult readers, and some of them are literally so graphic that their intended readers are adults only. “Sapiens: A Graphic History,” however, is child-friendly. For example, when explaining the principle that animals from different species may mate but cannot produce fertile offspring, Harari shows us a horse and a donkey and comments that “they don’t seem to be that into each other.” While many of the illustrations and dialogue bubbles are quite frank, the book serves as a useful primer of history and science for readers of all ages.

The "paradox of plenty": the way that the transition from nomadic to primary agricultural societies created a vicious cycle whereby humans had more children, so had to produce ever more food, requiring more workers and so on. This book also features several popular historical figures like Thomas Jefferson, Margaret Thatcher, Franz Kafka, John Lenon as characters. The main protagonists Dr Saraswati, Harari himself, Joey, Detective Lopez are also present from the first installment. They sometime switch timeline and interact with the historical figures. The caste inequality of India and the racial inequality of the USA are elaborately described and analyzed. Harari showed how religion and science were evoked to justify the discrimination. Harari's support for feminism and veganism is also reflected in this book.
