In the northern part of Snowdonia, the lake can be found on foot - taking in a 900-metre stone path in the national park. When Stella and her younger brother, Tom, move to their new London home, they become mystified by the disappearances of Harry, their elderly neighbour’s small dog. Where does he go? And why does he keep reappearing wet-through? The large bedroom upstairs has a double bed and triple bunk beds with beautiful views across the lake. You will just need to take your own bedding, towels and tea towels. Located in the Gwydir Forest, this lake covers an area of around 14 acres, at a height of 822 feet above sea level. One of the things we love most about camping on hot summer days is jumping into the water to cool off. Apparently this was not to be the case on this trip. Winter Savings

After not being out for a “big walk” for a couple of weeks now, and the walks I have done have been shorter variations of previous trip reports, I decided it was time to reacquaint my legs with some walking action. Stretching almost a mile in length and covering around 45 acres, this lake can be reached from Trefriw or Llanrwst in the Conwy Valley - but it's not the easiest place to get to. Their quest to solve the riddle over the summer holidays leads to a boat buried under a grassy mound, & a tunnel that takes them to a secret lake. Secret Lake was booked every weekend throughout the summer so we thought we would go for a short two night trip mid-week.

A great story for adults and children... a great mix of Alice and Wonderland and Narnia! A tale of two children who find a tunnel to the past and another life before theirs even existed... definitely worth a read!
