If you can't remember the button mapping settings for your controller, you can set the console to sleep mode. Upon waking it, you’ll have the option to reset the button mapping. While on the HOME Menu or on the Controllers menu, the Joy-Con controllers are not registered as being attached to the console. Prior to troubleshooting a controller, we strongly recommend that you verify that the button mapping settings have not been changed. Please note: the internal battery cannot be removed. If the battery needs to be replaced, it can be replaced for a fee via Nintendo Customer Support
