About this deal

First spray is soft, mouth-watering coconut, a hint of apples, delicate orange blossom and Jasmine. Very beautiful, elegant and mysterious. It smells expensive. The juice matches the gorgeous bottle.

The burnt caramel note emerges as it dries down, rounding out the base, a logical progression from the vanilla-coffee accord. The syrupy florals remain and a cloud of patchouli punctuates it with earthiness as it fades, becoming a sweet musky skin scent. Sillage is moderate and longevity is long-lasting. On the first sniff in the store the sales lady gave me 4 sprays on my left wrist and I fell in love immediately with this scent. It just filled me with happiness and energy and I kept sniffing my wrist the entire day because it kept getting my attention, poking my interest. It seems that coffee, vanilla and caramel are the queens of evening autumn/winter fragrances. Together, they can be sexy, skanky, classy or comforting. Dolce and Gabbana's The Only One is one of those fragrances that can be all of the above, and excellently so. It's a lovely, gooey gourmand, a more sophisticated step-up from a caramel frappuccino, tamed and classed up by powdery, cosmetic-esque notes like iris and rose, and grounded by a little patchouli. The coffee-vanilla combo comes out front in center, but not in an obnoxious way, but rather in a comforting and welcoming way.The Only One Intense is now my signature scent and definitely a compliment getter, especially from boys. It is a perfect balance of everything: Not too sweet, not too strong, not too loud, not too juvenile nor too mature. You can really wear it at any occasion, at any season, without being too much. But you should really love coconut and white flowers. To me this is elements of Armani Code mixed with Dolce Garden’s neroli and coconut with a dash of Alien’s jasmine. I will definitely be wearing this layered with "Vanilla Love" and save my "BO-LP" for special occasions. It's actually a (bad) cross between Goddess and L'Interdit, unimaginative and on the side of cheap. There's way, WAY better than this around... and for cheaper too (!). Huge no for me despite my love for this house and previous concoctions which I treasure. I have had to think very hard to remember the last time I finished a full sized bottle of fragrance. I tend to rotate my fragrances - season, emotion, shaking up my fragrance wardrobe (I am so easily bored....). This one stayed put - at my side, within easy reach - a uplifting daytime scent, a comforting night time scent. I truly appreciate how this smells on me, and how it makes me feel. It's a mix of all that I love in a fragrance. It's sweet, but does not make my head hurt. It's warm, but not so warm that it gets ignored when the temperature rises. It makes me feel both sexy and clean. We all - especially fragrance tragics like myself - spend a lot of time searching for that certain something, a scent that we doesn't require a great deal of pondering and thought.

On the other hand, I have fallen head over heels with Candy Prada. I happened to see recently that The Scented (Yana) on YouTube just recently discovered Candy Prada and has been surprised by her love of it! It projects like a buttery, soft kettle corn kind of sweet on me, and I have to restrain myself from using it daily. What a titillating scent for a breezy summer night. A successful blind buy for me. So glad there’s no patchouli to amplify the vanilla, so it actually works for those who live in warmer climates. It is a dark scent for the evenings, like a creamier, more powdery, more vanillic/sweeter Crystal Noir (EdP) minus the spices, woods and soapy note. I smell the sensual white florals and coconut the most, sweetened by a smooth, powdery vanilla. I own Crystal Noir EdP and have always found it abit too harsh smelling on my skin chemistry, I think I will do well layering these two. Do not overspray this one, the coconut has potential to be overwhelming and smell like cheap car freshener. I’m generally not a fan of coconut in perfumery, but it’s blended well here and really complements the white flowers. I like it, it's confident, bold, sweet, 'red'. When first sprayed I thought this is scent right up my alley that's sweet and reminds me a bit of La Vie Est Belle. Would be good for cooler months, more so at night, but could be worn during the day too. Ages 20-30. I think of my Latino roommates clubbing, as they had this type of scent bomb perfume. Slightly reminds minds me if Miss Boucheron. D&G has more of a fruit note though. Also slightly reminds me of Katy Perry Killer Queen, but this is MUCH better. KQ was too strong for me. This is def not a safe blind buy! so i would say this is definitely a different kind of scent.....and i dont mean that in a bad lol........its just one of those scents thats not for everyone & def do not blind buy lol

Performance is not that great for the price. Stays close to the skin and is gone after 4hours or so. On clothes longer but isn't that the case for pretty much every frag?? 🙄 Anyway, don't mind that if the price is ok but it's not, lol. Still expensive even at discounters. 😳

I have a “trained nose” in gourmands, so if it smells like any other to you it’s probably because you are not used to this amount of sweetness. But I can assure that among other similar DNAs, this is different. For the RM dupe hunters who hate apple in a frag like me: I much prefer l'interdit intense as a dupe for RM (65 percent dupe but excellent quality) and as a beautiful frag on it's own. Could be less sweet but the spicy sesame note makes up for it. Also, l'interdit intense layers beautifully with everything you throw at it, even mens' Cologne which makes them unisex. Performance superb. Seriously, it's like if a bomb had gone off in a patisserie laboratory. Not a terrible thing per se' if you like sugar bombs, but here they took sweet and powdery onto another level. One I cannot jive with. Update: okay so I’ve given this some wear and it does settle nicely and is wearable in summer. My complaint is that the middle, which is my favorite part, only lasts an hour or so. I’d say this only projects for 3-4 hours which is surprising for being the ‘intense’ version. D&G The Only One INTENSE has not much in common with its previous 'the only one' flankers imo. - I think, it is the the best of all the flankers, as it seems to be the most grown.

I just feel like it’s not just sitting on my skin, it becomes part of me and I really, really really love it beyond words or reasons. I’m at my third bottle, and it’s the only perfume I never get tired of. What you are left with in the mid and dry down is a scent reminiscent of the stale air in a small donut shop. A place where the donuts nor the coffee are terribly good. It has the sweetness of a decaying compost pile. The longevity is decent with it lasting 7hrs on my skin with a moderate silage, it makes me think of being wrapped up in my scarf, coat and boots while walking down a street in Oxford on a cool autumn/winter morning. While its nothing unique or groundbreaking, it does, to me at least, feel classy and elegant with the right amount of sweetness. I also agree with people who say it smells like something from the early 2000s, except I cant quite place what it is.
