About this deal

This post is my full review of our new car seat from Cozy N Safe, the Excalibur. You can read my first impressions blog post here which also has my first Cozy N Safe video. Most of our prams and pushchairs include a manufacturer’s warranty. This means that for the time period of the warranty, if something goes wrong you are entitled to request a repair.

A second-hand seat bought through a second-hand shop or through the classified ads may have been involved in an accident and any damage to the seat that can weaken it may not be visible. If your child is in a rear-facing car seat DO NOT put them on the front seat if the airbag is active. When can I move my baby into forward facing seat?In our old car seat her head lolled forward when she fell asleep and I always assumed that was just par for the course with car seats. But in the Excalibur her head seems cradled by cushioned support, yet she isn’t uncomfortably constrained. My husband also loves how easy this seat is to install. It literally just clips into place and the top tether, which is a doddle to secure, makes it feel particularly sturdy and robust. I would recommend this to my mummy friends as it’s really comfy for my little boy, it’s the only car seat he’s ever fallen asleep in, so it must be really comfy. It looked a bit boring when I got it out the box compared to some designs of seats but actually it grew on me and it’s nice and stylish. This makes it really easy to pop your little one in and out of this seat - there’s no wrestling with straps over stubborn shoulders, and my daughter is even able to climb into the seat and slip her arms into the straps all by herself.

The Excalibur is definitely a comfortable seat! It’s so well padded and my daughter looks so comfy and well supported in it. Before we installed it in the car, she used it as an armchair in the living room for a few days, she loved sitting in it so much! For maximum safety you should keep your child in their rear-facing car seat until the seat is fully outgrown. They will also be uncomfortable. If the child is too small, they may slip under the seat belt or harness in a crash. Is it a problem if my child car seat is a bit loose after I have fitted it? Unless you can be absolutely certain of a second-hand car seat’s history, because it comes from a family member or a friend, it is best not to use one. It features a 5-point harness that can be used in Groups 1 and 2 — up to 25kgs or 6 years approximately which is a great safety feature!I think for the recline feature, it makes this seat stand out. I also thought it was really easy to fit into the car, I didn’t have to ask my husband to do it like I normally do. It is really well made and feels like it will last for ages.

I would suggest dividing the manual up into step-by-step instructions from start to finish for each of the different possible installation combinations instead of referring to other parts of the manual. I know this would be an increased cost as it would require a longer leaflet to be printed but this could simply be available to access online to save that cost. If your child has outgrown their baby seat by height but is not yet ready to sit forward facing, or you don’t want them to, the option of a combination 0+1 car seat will give you a full-size Group 1 car seat that is rear-facing until 18kg. What do I do if the instructions for my child car seat are missing? If it cannot be made secure it is possible that the seat is not suitable for your car. Is it safe for my child to travel in the front seat? One of only a few car seats that can boast a 25kg harness the Hudson is as safe as it is stylish. Features So confident, in fact, that I persuaded my daughter’s grandparents to take delivery of the Cozy N Safe so we could test it out in their car and I wouldn’t have to part with my own beloved car seat.

Anything that allows a three-year-old to indulge their love of doing things independently is nothing short of brilliant in my book. I don’t think I’d change anything about it. Except maybe the design. It would be good if it came in a range of bright colours and patterns but that’s just my preference. If the child is too big for their seat, it will not protect them properly and may even injure them in a crash. We would strongly recommend changing your car seat if it has been involved in an accident. Even if you cannot see any visible damages, there may be hidden, internal damages. Your insurance company should assist in getting a replacement seat. However ROSPA have a very helpful letter below that might help.

I’d buy this seat for this feature alone. There’s a world of difference between a child dangling awkwardly out of her car seat straps during a nap in the car, and one snoozing softly, nestled in comfort. While we understand that being without your pram is inconvenient, we do not have any capacity to provide a pushchair or pram lending service. Little Angels Prams act only as a go-between, your warranty is with the brand who manufactures your pushchair. The side impact protection is very generous which is a great feature and the whole seat is very sturdy and strong. It feels robust and like it’s very good quality! Comfort is my priority in a car seat and my daughter just fits this seat better - as if it were made for her.
