Other than that this was a good story. It was swoony and hot and there were some awesome moments when we get to read from Kage and Declan’s perspectives. That was very satisfying to my need for more of both of these men. And Spider, sigh.... oh Spidey, she’s not good enough for you, you deserve better than Sloane’s mini me. Safe no ow/om drama although the H is jealous of om that is trying to rescue her - does not cause separation; h not a virgin; no real info whether the H is a manwhore or not - I did not get that impression Normally, if a book involves "daddy kink" and "unplanned pregnancy", it cannot get a higher grade than 2 stars from me but the rest of this book involves really good banter, strong feelings and all so I cannot deduct too many points for the things I hate. I am trying to be as fair as possible here so I am deducting 1.5 points for the things I disliked and giving it 3.5 stars, rounding it up to 4.

The book begins with a scene that continues from Book 1 so if you haven’t read Book 1, don’t start the series with this one, read Book 1 first. The banter between these two is amazing and hilarious! I laughed out loud so many times. But underneath all the snark something else was brewing. A chemistry so hot it was only a matter of time before it blew. They were made for each other. Sloane has never given her heart to anyone. Her body, yes, but never her heart. She has her reasons and when she finally reveals them, it’s heartbreaking. Declan became her strength. With him she could just be, could let him take over and protect her. It’s something she’s never done before but with him, for the first time, something bigger feels possible. I loved Nat and Kage’s story, it had everything I love in a romance book. I loved, laughed, swooned and found myself wanting more.He's never met anyone like Sloane before, resilient, fearless, annoying with an extreme case of verbal diarrhoea making him pity her previous boyfriends. She's a raging banshee who eats men's sanity for supper. She's playing over ways to kill him as painfully and slowly as possible in her mind. She agrees to go out one night with her loud,ballsy, mouthy, best friend Sloane, to drown her sorrows over the two days that would have been her wedding anniversary. One thing I can always count on with J.T. Geissinger is she comes through with the banter. It's always on point 😌 Even when everything else fails, these characters still kept me entertaining enough with their banter. The duet style dual POV narration was incredibly perfect for this romantic suspense which is super-hot and sexy, filled with mystery, twists and turns, dead bodies and hilarious witty banter. After a while, he speaks again. This time his tone has changed. It’s grown dark. “Don’t try to run away.”

So, Carnal Urges is the second installment in Geissinger’s Queens & Monsters series and it tells the love story between Sloane Keller and Declan O’Donnell, two people from two different worlds that meet when Declan, who belongs to the Irish mafia, kidnaps Sloane, who supposedly started a war between all his enemies. But Sloane is not the typical kidnapee, she is not afraid and she does not take any shit from anyone. Especially Declan. That surprises him and also is what starts their crazy chemistry. Their banter and sexual tension are turning into something either expected. What will happen when they are forced to face the consequences of that attraction?None of that to be found in this gem though. Nope. No ma’am. The characters were spot on. Ain’t nobody up in here making silly a** life choices for plot — not in my opinion. Genuinely loved all three of them, which in itself was a welcome change; they were funny and down to earth, and felt like real characters who DEVELOPED, wonderfully. Five stars for the main characters ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ SAVAGE HEARTS' 📚is the third full length, mafia romance book in J.T. Geissinger's 'Queens & Monsters' series. Mal thinks that Riley’s a prostitute, one that’s forced to live in Declan‘s house. He’s ready to kill Declan, (by hiding inside a tower), but then he sees Riley, and he can’t help but be drawn to her and wants to help her. He approaches her, secretly, a couple of times and tries to convince her to run away, but he learns the truth- yet that doesn’t stop him from thinking about her. She was the MVP in Ruthless Creatures and she continues her reign in Carnal Urges. If you take one thing out of my review then that you should read this book for Sloane. She's a queen, she is a badass, she is a savage. She is my spirit animal.

Therefore, I am rating Carnal Urges with 4.5 STARS because it definitely follows the great start to this series with an equally amazing second installment. I loved Sloane and Declan, I loved their steamy chemistry and their unique connection. I loved seeing more of Kage and Nat too. I can now say that I am addicted to this series and these characters and I am so glad J.T. Geissinger is giving us more of them! I cannot wait to read the next one and I am so curious to know who will be the protagonists. Guys, don’t miss the Queens & Monsters series if you love mafia romance! He leans close to my face and says from between gritted teeth, “You’re about as charming as herpes. Now go take a piss.” Another observation is that I probably would have liked this book even more if it didn’t give me deja vu when it comes to the banter and general dialogue. All 3 heroines sounded pretty much the same with Sloan being a bit extra. The men were kinda the same too (especially Kage and Malek). I don’t know but after reading all 3 books one after the other the characters are almost replaceable. Meaning you could take Riley and put it in the first book instead of Nat, and you’d change nothing but the physical appearance.They’re [Cats] furry little serial killers who can give you brain-eating amoebas from their poo, but that’s not my point.” Hot As Sin: A Bad Habit Novella (This novella bridges the Bad Habit Series to the Dangerous Beauty Series) I suspect there’s more he wants to say. The pause felt significant. I wait, my heartbeat going even faster. The hero and heroine are very likable as I have already mentioned. If only Malek didn’t use the “daddy” word, their relationship would be awesome for me but he went and spoiled it all twice by using it. (Well, thank God, he didn't say it every time they had sex).
