About this deal

There are so many brands of foot care products it’s difficult to know where to start, but here in the UK the company Compeed has long been the go-to for long-distance walkers. Blister plasters turning white indicates that they have absorbed excess fluid which aids healing. Should I pop my blister before putting on the COMPEED ® patch?

Compeed are a company that creates products specifically designed for blister, corns, callus and cold sore treatment. If you constantly get them, then you know something is wrong, but most drummers who have been playing for ten years or more hardly ever get them anymore. I get blisters on my toes and the inner part of my foot when wearing sandals. In addition, my top of my inner thighs rub together when on long walks on hot days wearing skirts/dresses causing discomfort and a rash.To fit them, you have to position the patch exactly on your insole in the location where it rubs, which is easier said than done. Unfortunately, the best way to find this out is actually get a blister so you can then take the insole out and position your foot on it to see where the patch has to go. So how do you know if a blister becomes infected? It’s sometimes difficult to notice the difference between an infected and uninfected one as even uninfected fluid bubbles can feel very sore and look red and inflamed, but there are a few tell-tale signs to be aware of. Remember that the fluid that fills the blister bubble keeps infection at bay, so popping it yourself will prevent your body’s natural protection and you could introduce bacteria into the wound. Unfortunately, the raw skin under this bubble of fluid can become very sore to the touch, and if the bubble bursts there is a chance it can become infected. Thankfully though, there are several very effective products that you can use to protect your feet from the ravages of blisters, most of which prevent the rubbing from occurring by adding a barrier between the foot and the shoe.

These water- and sweat-resistant bandages were specifically designed to help cushion and protect blisters and can also be used preventatively. They are manufactured with hydrogels that help to moisturize the affected area and help with healing. These bandages are thin, flexible and discreet, so you can wear them whenever necessary without feeling self-conscious. Most commonly caused by rubbing from repetitive shear forces and are quite often the result of wearing ill-fitting shoes or improper footwear for an activity.KIND TO SKIN– the allergen-free formula is not only vegan approved but also child safe and free from petroleum, lanolin or mineral oils. Compeed blister plasters are designed to protect your blister and create an optimal healing environment. They provide instant pain relief and deep cushioning. While I don’t advise mastering each grip type, it can help if you have a bit of proficiency with each of them. If you feel a blister coming, you can switch grips to relieve the stress from a certain part of your fingers.
