About this deal

While I will concede that the steamy scenes were scorching, and I fully recommend that you be prepared, and don't read this in public, I was very pleased with how Lily brought her A game with this story. I fully enjoyed the read, and I only have one issue, otherwise this would be five stars, and that is during love scenes, I get a bit confused with how bodies are positioned. Since I can't give half stars, I would like to let you know that I've given this book a solid four and a half stars. Well worth the effort. Josh is bae, the only guy who had zero ex drama and just pined all day. Unproblematic king. Get you a man who is so in love with you he will arrange a whole ass dating experiment just so he can have an excuse to be close to you. His biggest downside was him...you guessed it...starting a podcast. It totally fit with their personalities and showcased Layla’s true fears but that’s what made it worse because they really hit her where it hurts. This ain't going anywhere. Okay? We'll do the segment, get you nice and irresistible to men, and then release you into the wild like a baby bird. We ain't gonna end up dating." One of these days, after I've read everyyyyythingggg that Lily Gold has written so far, I'll write a proper review for this one - because I can't declare this one her best RH until I've done my homework. This book is definitely better than 'Nanny for the(her?) Neighbours' in some ways, though that is scorching hot too.

This isn't to my taste. I went in with an open mind, but most of the sex acts in here just sound uncomfortable and unpleasant for the female MC. I didn't find it sexy. The only sexually interesting part was the double-kissing, and that was only in one scene. Mostly, I felt like they were just torturing the poor woman. I'm sure this wasn't Gold's intent. But the 90% of the sex in here just sounded godawful to me, like it wouldn't be enjoyable at all. Like I felt sorry for Layla for having to endure it. >.< Not the vibe Gold was going for. She’s 28 years old and never had a boyfriend but she’s bound and determined to find one before she turns 30. She has a plan, you know? The book is based in London and I do wish we had gotten a bit more description from the setting. However, not having that extra description didn’t take away from the story for me. I just personally like having more descriptive settings. But as my lessons become more and more intense, we soon find ourselves getting in too deep. Every butterfly-inducing touch lingers a little too long, and every molten kiss ends in fireworks. It’s not long before I realise that their friendship isn’t enough for me anymore. I want more. Meanwhile, my stalker’s behaviour is becoming more and more alarming. He’s photographing me through windows and following me in the shadows. With the premiere for my next movie coming up, will my three bodyguards be able to keep me safe from his clutches? Or will my terrifying pursuer finally get his deadly way? Faking With Benefits is a sizzling fake dating romance, with a whole lot of heart, and an ultra-sweet HEA (Happily Ever After.) Faking With Benefits Book Review But when her brother abdicates, she’s suddenly faced with the prospect of a loveless, politically expedient marriage and a throne she never wanted.

If part of his storyline was actually him trying (keyword: trying) to get over the past then I probably would have been able to silently deal with it, but I kid you not, 80% into the book, he's still obsessed with his dead ex- like he lost a ring that was his ex's and went ballistic and now this, I understand. You lose something of importance of someone you loved (oh shit my bad, I mean LOVE) and it's the only thing you have left. But what I couldn't get past was the fact that he was so torn up about this after ditching Layla but all of a sudden, he doesn't need it anymore? Because he finally realized that he loves Layla? Here's a better part of his obsession. He was so obsessed that he in fact decided to break up with Layla but wait- no he couldn't simply do that. INSTEAD he decided to give it one last hoorah and break up with her while pulling out just after she confesses her feelings for him. The man just doesn't think. He has no brain. I shift uncomfortably. “Not if I can avoid it. Or I spend a few months privately learning in secret, so I’m not embarrassingly bad at it.”The whole reason he doesn't tell her about his feelings is because 1) he wasn't ready and he's allowed that discretion and 2) she wasn't ready to hear it. The plot is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. I expect a little bit of ridiculousness in romance and erotica. Fine. But this is BONKERS. Layla claims she's never dated anyone that turns out to be a LIE, she dated a guy for a week in high school. The book opens with her being on a date with a guy, and he excuses himself to go to the bathroom and CLIMBS OUT THE WINDOW to escape the date.

I love the friendship to lovers story. The dynamic within this group of characters is fantastic. We get hilarious scenes, touching scenes, lots of sexy scenes, and even a few arguments. All of the characters are flawed and go through some sort of growth in this book. I like that and it works really well.it bothered me that they did this RH thing before 😬. Ugh. I wish the situation with Layla has been a unique one. I’m assuming this was to show that they could do this since they did it before 🤷🏻‍♀️. I needed better closure in this situation too… or more clarity. stars equals “Meh.” I will not read this book again, it had a lot of problems and I did not care for it. What follows is the four of them helping Layla learn about flirting, dating, and opening up to another person while they take her on dates. Of course, things soon turn hot and heavy when they add in tips for the bedroom. Why Faking With Benefits Is a Keeper! I feel like this book was 80% sex and 20% plot… but weirdly enough, there was enough of a story to keep me interested.
