Cut a 10 cm piece out of the PTFE tube, glue it on the hot end and place the hot end right next to the screw holes. If the tube is too long, cut only a small amount off. One of my favorite upgrades for the Ender 3 is a direct drive extruder. I own a handful of Ender 3 printers and have upgraded a few of them to a direct drive extruder over the years, and I love the results. You can set it up in minutes. It consists of a rigid iron pipe frame draped with a heat-containing cover, with an aluminum film and flame-resistant fabric for extra peace should the worst happen and the printer catches fire.
