About this deal

It seemed a little too impossible the way the characters super-human talents showed up right when they needed them.

Some questionable actions (that these kids exhibit to survive) that most parents probably wouldn't want promoted or justified to their kids, such as stealing and destruction of property.

Later, the government enlists their help in finding out what is destroying hundreds of ships and killing millions of fish off the coast of Hawaii. Most of the book is devoted to "to-ing and fro-ing" - running from one location to another - with the express purpose of supplying a new setting for a battle.

There's also a line I found randomly flipping towards the back of the book that described the new Erasers as half-wolf, half-human, and half-avian. Their plan goes awry when Gazzy fails to disarm all the bombs under the gathering spot, and the bombs explode while Fang, Gazzy, and Angel are still in the blast radius. Maximum Ride and her "flock"—Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman and Angel—are just like ordinary kids, only they have wings and can fly. Then something at the end happened that made my stomach curl and completely killed what little of the book I enjoyed.Initially I thought I had picked up the series on the second book because of constant references to what has happened before. Ari and the Erasers drive by and scare him off so quickly that he leaves his card behind, allowing the Flock to withdraw two hundred dollars. As part of the Marvel miniseries, The Angel Experiment was adapted as a comic under the title Max Ride: First Flight. He’s given over a million books to school kids and over forty million dollars to support education, and endowed over five thousand college scholarships for teachers.

evil of Harry Potter, some of the artificially-created destiny from Ender's Game, throw in the flying fantasies from Eragon and mix them in with Patterson's trademark flippant characterization, and you've got Maximum Ride. Book is in very good condition with minor general wear and tear, otherwise no other pre-loved markings. On the "negative" side, there is not a whole lot of substance to the story and the character development is weak. And the end is a huge cliffhanger, making me sure that I'm going to attack the next book right away! Max and Fang have a daughter, Phoenix, and after sheltering during a five-year-long nuclear winter, settle in the ruins of Machu Picchu. This is a James Patterson story for young adults and it is related to the James Patterson adult fiction novel "When the Wind Blows".
