I didn't dislike the book but there were a couple of things that I felt made it less pleasant to read, and it wasn't really the subject or the story. The final line of the ending chapter made me roll my eyes so far back into my head, I thought I went blind. Rachel and Ed, Gemma’s parents, are there, unexpectedly in VIP seats, so they have a very good view of the moment when she is shot. I had my own theories about what was going on and I was partly right but the way it was written and concluded was excellent.

Her Perfect Family is a thrilling ride, a finely-crafted mystery that begins with a terrible act of violence, a mother’s worst nightmare. The story takes off with a bang with some really tense first scenes and then takes the foot off the gas to go back and forth between past and present through several POVs to tell us about all the members of the Hartley family and their secrets. Although I didn't connect with the characters and found it mostly unbelievable the story did actually hold my interest and I was eager to get to the final conclusion. This twisty, addictively page-turning suspense novel about a perfect family’s perfect façade will keep you turning pages until its explosive ending. However, it also turns out that Gemma’s family is far from perfect, with a web of hidden deceits under the surface.It is a race against time as police fear the attacker will strike again, versus the faint hope that Gemma may wake up from her coma. I don't like to give anything away, but I strongly urge everyone to read this book, won't disappoint! But the next Wednesday, the stalker makes another move—and it becomes clear that this is all about Alice.
