About this deal

It doesn't have to be put up full and if it is on low the thermostat kicks in once the temperature drops. They do make a sort of pleasant crackling sound of heating oil when turned on from cold if used on the highest setting (which is disconcerting at first if you aren't used to oil-filled heaters but is perfectly normal! More expensive heaters or fixed wall mounted radiators often claim to be more efficient based on the fact they have more sophisticated thermostats and/or timers, so can avoid wasting energy by overheating the room. It has three variable heat settings and an adjustable room thermostat to set and maintain the desired temperature, as well as an anti-frost function and an overheat safety protection feature. We've used it a fair bit (our conservatory is also our dining room) for over a year, with no ill effects, and it still works great.

Thoroughly recommend this machine - it's silent in operation and pretty compact BUT (there's always a 'but') why is there no indication that this machine is painted in what is best described as 'Battleship' grey and not white? The above review I made on or around 26/4/2013 and have used this oil filled radiator ever since and the winters here are very, very cold! My second rad was a DeLonghi 800W Banmbino which was actually purchaed for a small 8ft x 8ft office room. Mains gas per "unit" is cheaper than electricity, so gas central heating would be cheaper than having a house full of these heaters. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. I know in the manual it does mention an odour when new but (apart from testing when I first got it) I had it on several hours yesterday and the odour seemed to disappear completely but then I went to put it on again today and it was back just as bad. First thing you will notice is how good it looks (for a radiator that is), it does not look out of place in the corner of a room and is far away from the normal sqare and chunky design.

I was quite surprised to see setting 2 being so close to the same power consumption as setting 1, but there you go. I set the thermostat at 21c this high only because of the short lead from the radiator, other wise i would set the thermostat plug at 18c max. The Vento V550920 Oil-Filled Radiator by De'Longhi is an essential item to have when the temperature drops, providing comfort and warmth to any room. The innovative and exclusive design of the Vento VV550920 from De'Longhi gives high performance at exceptional value for money. The main body of the radiator is encased in a surrounding second outer shell, creating a chimney-like space in between the two.If you use the thermostat it does maintain a steady temperature - this works better than I expected. Air is drawn in at the bottom, heated by the main radiant heat of the radiator and then expelled at the top. Will now work out the cost of this but am confident that it will be a lot cheaper to run than oil boiler going all night for just 1 radiator! This took longer to heat up, but once warmed up provided more heat than my original 2kWh Argos jobby. This means that the air produced is hotter (by up to 10 degrees centigrade) and ejects up to 40% faster.
