Each year Balvenie sets aside one week to make an experimental peated spirit, the product of which has been bottled since 2017 as The Week of Peat editions.

What makes a revered distillery like Balvenie special is that it delights in occasionally experimenting despite being one of the most traditional distilleries around. But a trip to the island of Islay inspired Balvenie distillery manager Ian Miller to reappraise the region’s relationship with smoke. V.
