About this deal

Next day they are off to the Enchanted Wood and Dick hears the leaves on the trees making a soft sound in the breeze — "Wisha, Wisha, Wisha! It's a table soaring skyward with the children squeezed on it followed by a bench bearing Moon-Face, Silky and Saucepan and if you don't believe a situation like this could take place just take a look at the Dorothy Wheeler picture. There are a few versions and recipes online already, but I’ve kinda gone my own way with it, of course the general outline of how this was done can really be done with any particular bun recipe that you want.

I used a hot cross bun recipe, I really wanted that fluffy texture that’s not quite so sweet, with the subtle spiced flavours to have as a direct comparison to the burst of sweet sherbet from the inside. I just used a recipe from delightful adventures that I use all the time - I’ve never had it not work. Bake buns for about 20-25 minutes - they should be a nice golden brown on top and slightly springy to the touch. Dame Washalot of whom we don't hear about all that much, loses her temper in one chapter and displays quite alarming strength by throwing the children, Moon-Face and the Saucepan Man up into one of the strange lands. Dick and the girls go up the tree again to join Jo, Moon-Face, Saucepan and Silky and then things go from bad to worse.I found I had to manually work the sultanas through at this stage to ensure they would be properly distributed. Such exciting adventures are experienced that the children deliberately stay away from the tree every now and again just to get over them but eventually they're off again for more thrills. With Moonface, Saucepan Man and Silky the pixie, they explore the amazing lands to be found at the top of the tree – the Land of Spells, the Land of Toys, and the tempting Land of Goodies, but then one day Moonface, Silky and Saucepan Man disappear mysteriously. Unlike the first three books in the series, this work is not a novel, but a series of illustrations with short text underneath.

Line a tin with baking paper and allow it to hang over the sides - this will allow you to pull the buns out easily after baking. Over the years, the Faraway Tree stories have been illustrated by various artists including Dorothy M. Stunning photography, engaging stories and history - the book is packed with all the practical information you need - directions, route maps and downloadable guides.Add the 3/4 cup of milk, oil, salt, ground spices, orange and lemon zests, and one cup of flour - mix with a spoon to combine.
