About this deal

The rise of the upper midrange continues in the highs where transients, air, and details executed well without being overbearing to the ears. Above the splitter cables are twisted pairs and terminate with pre-formed earhooks without memory wire and .

Technicalities SoundstageThe stage size of the Storm doesn’t exactly bring upon stadium sized visions but more like a small room. Downsides to the Treble RegionThe biggest issue to the treble would be for treble heads who desire better resolution and a cleaner treble punch and bite up top. Since I’m not an english native I’m not going to use a very specific professional language to describe it but I will do my best to explain my feelings about it. Build / Design / Internals / Fit Build Quality The Storm is a feather-light pair of universal iems made with a hard plastic material and are of a well-constructed budget quality.

The bass on the KB01 bass region has a bit more sub-bass growl and rumble but it is very close between the two. The treble is a completely non-fatiguing and non-offensive affair and there is a nice uplift across the midrange due to the rise in the treble.

The shells are in small sizes so that it fits well in my lug holes without any issues like soreness and discomfort that is usually associated with listening fatigue in some IEMs with larger shells. The housing of each KB01 unit is precisely 3D printed using European medical-grade resin often used for hearing aids. As for soprano vocals, they are bright and gleaming in them though they are a bit unnatural and sometimes too tinny sounding especially on coloratura ones. Indeed, the KBEAR KS1 will also make a good alternative to the hypetrain BLON BL-03 and BLON BL-01, especially since there is no need to worry about fixing the fit with aftermarket tips/cables and there is also no need to source for a powerful source (no pun intended), just to get the IEM to sing. It has dual drivers per side, include 1Advanced Balanced armature and 10mm composite diaphragm (PU+biological diaphragm) dynamic drivers. The LARK’s bass has a strong and authoritative response but not so overpowering as the typical V-shaped offerings we expect to hear. She comes across clean and with nice resolution but warmer and more laid back than many iems of late. I’ll be perfectly honest, the P05 is a bit out of the KB01’s league in many respects but they aren’t so far apart that it doesn’t warrant a quick comparison to better explain the KB01. However, just as easily I can say that the KB01 doesn’t do a bad job highlighting the minutiae within a track and does better than many sets. Walking down the street presents not just a pair of headphones, but a work of art that makes you shine.
