About this deal

When The Strokes burst onto the scene with their debut album, "Is This It," back in 2001, they ignited a rock revival that resonated with fans around the world. It’s not entirely clear right now if release is a German territory exclusive, but it looks that way (I can’t find any listings for this elsewhere). To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. The RCA Records label is a unit of BMG Entertainment TMK(S) ® registered | Marcas registrada(s) [RCA logo] ® General Electric Co. The album was released in the summer of 2001 and features the singles ‘Hard To Explain’, ‘Last Nite’ and ‘Someday’ all of which were top 20 hits in the UK.

Condition - This item is in Excellent condition or better (unless it says otherwise in the above description). The Strokes' "Is This It" on limited edition vinyl is an essential addition to any music lover's collection. Their music draws influences from classic rock bands like The Velvet Underground and Television while adding their own modern twist.Language - Regardless of country of origin all tracks are sung in English, unless otherwise stated in our description.

Among the many highlights are Last Nite with its insistent motown backbeat and choppy johnny thunders-like guitar solo, Barely Legal, sounding like 1980s-era Cure fronted by a saucy Iggy Pop, and the jangly Someday with its hairshirt of vulnerability from a bad break-up. The record is a heavy version 150-180 grams I guess, and the front cover has a sticker with black background and "The Strokes" in white letters and "Is This It" in red. But years on, the casual objectification and sexual provocation of the image speaks volumes about the music and fashion scenes at the time, and just how much they have changed. Holding the record in your hands, you can immediately sense the craftsmanship and love put into this release.Among the many highlights are Last Nite with its insistent motown backbeat and choppy johnny thunders-like guitar solo, Barely Legal, sounding like 1980s-era Cure fronted by a saucy Iggy Pop, and the jangly Someday with its hairshirt of vulnerability from a bad break-up. Is This It" remains a modern classic, and hearing it on vinyl adds a whole new dimension to the listening experience. While frontman Julian Casablancas (son of elite models founder john) drawls like Lou Reed through a busted intercom, guitarists Nick Valensi and Albert Hammond Jr do Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd proud as their sinewy chords intertwine to great effect on the angular The Modern Age and equally neurotic Alone, Together. is one of the most exciting and energetic debut albums to spring from New York’s long dormant club scene. Release Date: 12th January Thank you Strokes for saving us from Nu Metal and bland Post-Britpop indie.
