About this deal

We sent it to friends who have just become grandparents for the first time and they were absolutely delighted. The fresh crisp palate reveals flavours of citrus and white fleshed fruits (apple, pear, white peach) alongside floral notes and elegant hints of brioche and fresh nuts.

Its aromas are radiant, revealing bright white-fleshed fruits (apple, pear, white peach), citrus fruits, floral lime blossom and elegant blond notes (brioche and fresh nuts). Double Barrel Very Special Old Jacket is a cuvée of barrel-aged English Barleywines aged between one and three years before blending and rebarreling in Templeton Rye barrels for an additional eighteen months. Sure to give any celebration a sense of style, Moet Imperial - first created in 1869 - is distinguished by its vibrancy, seductiveness and elegance. The result is exactly what we had set out to produce and we are honored it is worthy of the Beer : Barrel : Time name.We are excited that we could blend up this beer for you - to express our barrel-aging program from a slightly different angle and to offer up BBT more than once this year! The raspberries are Heritage and Latham, grown in Michigan by the Schramm family for three generations, and the black currants are Crandall and Consort. This blend comprises 30-40% pinot noir, 30-40% meunier and 20-30% chardonnay grapes – harvested from the most extensive estate in the region – providing the champagne with body, suppleness and finesse. Prepare your palate for the delectable flavors of milk chocolate and fudge, laced with caramel undertones and a warming finish of bourbon and apple brandy.

Goose Island poured this beer at the 2009 fest, and drinkers loved it so much we decided we had to bottle it. DM falls somewhere between Derivation and Medianoche - an Imperial Stout that we had the pleasure of brewing with our friends at Weldwerks more than 2 years ago.

Though the latter is somewhat self-explanatory, cuvée is referring to the first pressed or most desirable grape juice in the production and can often denote higher quality. Crafted to celebrate our 5th Anniversary, Starry Noche started as a carefully selected blend of Medianoche batches aged for 18-22 months in freshly emptied 7-12 year-old bourbon barrels. After about 14 months in those casks, we selected and blended the best of what our barrels had to offer, then introduced this blend to a handful of 21 year Elijah Craig barrels for 14 more months. This stout was first aged 12 months in 11-year-old Elijah Craig barrels from our friends at Heaven Hill distilleries.

Imperial Stout brewed with coconut, then aged for 14 months in Weller 12 and Rittenhouse Rye barrels before being infused again with toasted and raw coconut. After nearly two years in barrels, the blend was conditioned on more than 3 lbs/gallon of toasted coconut flakes and raw coconut chips, then finished with toasted hazelnut. On the palate it combines subtlety and sumptuousness, flavours of white fleshed fruits such as pears, peach and apple entice you in with the caress of fine bubbles.Between 20-30 % of the blend is from the reserve wines which add intensity, subtelty and the needed consistency. The Willett barrels, a continual favorite of mine, bring our "house" Side Project character to these recipes.
