Along with just a handful of other overseas authors, Jodi Picoult is one of my favourites and has been ever since I discovered her in the early 1990s. The loss is when the two are separated after the tragic death of a member of staff at a New England elephant sanctuary.

I recognise Jodi Piccoult is a fantastic and prolific author, and have enjoyed a couple of her books before now.Jenna Metcalf was just three years old when she last saw Alice and has spent a decade longing to be reunited with mother, or at least finding out what happened to her.
