I bought this last week after having my fourth baby and her not latching on well and causing a lot of pain and bleeding in the process. I also incorporated my own experience as a beauty and parenting editor and a mom of two who has tested dozens of nipple creams and balms. I have been breastfeeding for a good while now, and I needed to up my supply so that I could pump more milk out for when the grandparents babysit! Moisturizing: Nipple creams feature a host of hard-working ingredients that heal, soothe and nourish the skin. Simply put, some ingredients just don't exist (like water or salt) in an organic form, and some ingredients are not available certified organic.

I did one across a few supposedly natural nipple balms that stated were fine for ingestion which contained Phenoxyethanol which in my opinion is not safe for babies to effectively EAT. Since then baby has learned to latch so I haven't needed it but I'm using it as lip balm and hand cream as my pregnancy has left me with dry lis and hands. I find the balm very slippery which may be inconvenient for those breastfeeding (I am exclusively pumping). We also used feedback from parents in the What to Expect community, in addition to my own experience with these items, to find products that worked best for a wide range of breastfeeding parents.
When melted balms are poured into a container, it contracts towards the walls while cooling which leads to a gap in the centre of the balm known as a sinkhole. I am loving that this really is 100% natural smells kind of chocolates from the cocoa butter I guess.
