About this deal

Please note the stand is supplied alone without any tools as per the product images which are for illustration purposes only This saw offers a lot of features for a lot of people. However, the manufacturer had professionals in mind when they designed it. However it’s decently priced, and DIYers, hobbyists, and woodworkers can also get great benefits from this tool This particular saw can cut a 12″ wide board at 90°– so it’s great for shelving, wide dimensional lumber, plywood (see photo above), etc.

The beveling capabilities allow you to tilt the head left or right and the angle allowance is pretty significant. While it’s a 10-inch saw, it also has side rails that you have to accommodate wherever you place it. This can cause you to need a bit more space to devote to the saw. Overall, it’s built for versatility and durability. It’s built for a contractor’s life so you know it’s built to last. The ConsA safety brake is built-in the machine to avoid any harm to yourself while operating MAKITA. The push-button is required to be continuously pressed while using the saw; if by any chance the push button is deactivated, the engine brake will turn off the machine, and the saw blade will become stationary. In this way, the risk of any chance of injury to your hand is minimized. It’s built to last and has a decent warranty for the price tag. I would say for non-professionals, this tool will probably last a really long time. I haven’t set mine up with any dust extraction system, so dust is a bit of an issue. The saw comes with a little dust bag, but I’d say the majority of the sawdust doesn’t make it into the bag. However I gather this is fairly normal for mitre saws generally. The stand is easy to assemble with a tool-less installation and removal of the mitre saw. The DEBWST06 is 1150mm wide, with extendable arms up to 2550mm.

This is a 13 amp direct drive motor, with a soft-start feature. This is good for prolonging the life of the saw, and it has another benefit I really like. With the soft start, you have virtually zero chance of board shift on startup. So you end up saving time, and headache, with this feature. It goes beyond standard on its miter capabilities, plus it’s a dual bevel, meaning you can change the angle of the blade instead of flipping the workpiece over. Contractors tend to love this feature.Miters 0° - 47° left and 0° - 60° right, with positive stops at 0°, 15°, 22.5°, 31.6°, 45° (left and right) The LS1018L 260mm slide compound mitre saw is equipped with a built in laser guide projecting a crisp cutting line onto the work piece providing fast, accurate alignment of the blade for extreme accuracy & increased productivity. It features full electronic power control maintaining a constant blade speed under load, electronic brake and soft start eliminating sudden movement on start up.

As with all saws the bag is useless and actually should always have a vacuum attached. Also the laser is hard to see when working out in the sun. But c'mon, it ain't gonna chill your beer for you. Dual Bevel: Having that dual bevel capability gives you so much more capability. It improves your crosscutting, your miters, and even your angles. It makes it more suitable to a wider array of projects but it also simplifies the normal projects. You can swivel the head right or left for the cut. This tool falls into the mid-range when it comes to price. It lines up with other tools in the same price range and has some details that many miter saws at this cost don’t have. In fact, it can be very hard to find a dual bevel compound saw at this price. And to conclude my Makita LS1018 review I would add this: The saw literally has great features for just about any type of user. This Makita miter saw stands out for professionals and for other fields of woodworkers. It is capable of working with a variety of different needs and that is perhaps why it’s such a great power tool. It doesn’t have a laser and the dust collection is just standard but remember that the saw itself was built for accuracy so you should be ok without that laser.I brush the saw off at the end of each day's use, then vacuum to remove sawdust in hard to reach places. After far less than half a year, rust started forming on the rails and some of the screws. (The screws are coated for rust protection (resistance??).) It does have a bigger footprint due to the standard slide rails than it’s cousin, the Makita LS1019L, but that saw’s features come with a higher price tag (and total weight). The Makita LS1018L is a powerful and reliable saw designed for various cutting applications. With an input power of 1430 W, this AC-powered saw is equipped to handle a wide range of cutting tasks. The blade diameter measures 260 millimeters, while the blade bore is 30 millimeters, ensuring precision cuts and efficient performance.
