About this deal

I’m the girl that takes her own shampoo to the hairdressers to minimise reactions. I’m the girl that always washes her hair over the bath instead of in the shower to minimise reactions. I’m the girl that hasn’t used proper hairspray since her teens, to minimise reactions. Sadly so many beauty products that we use daily contain nasty chemicals that can irritate skin and effect those of us with allergies and skin conditions. I found applying a small 2p sized amount on the ends of my hair left my hair really shiny and manageable and really works nicely after using the shampoo. Honestly I can’t tell you how much I’ve really grown to enjoy styling my hair again. I can create volume when styling it now – Something I’ve not been able to do for so long.

Allergy friendly haircare brand Olsson Haircare is a vegan friendly, cruelty free hair care range which prides it’s self on it’s commitment to allergy sufferers, allowing them to achieve salon performance results without the added irritation. Premium ingredients & salon approved: A high-performance formulation with Ceramide A2 for a restructuring and smoothing effect and Vitamin B5 to strengthen and re-build damaged hair. Glycerine, for optimum moisture and shine. Aloe Vera for soothing sensitivities. No compromise, the Olsson haircare range achieves the perfect balance between managing sensitivity and salon performance. Loved by professional stylists, approved by allergy specialists. Olsson hair care, having been formulated from three years of development between salons, professionals and chemists, is a hair care range designed to offer salon performance without irritation and I’d say I agree! Over the past year I’ve worked my way through their range and now use their Shampoo and Conditioner as well as their leave-in conditioner and sensitive hairspray as part of my daily/weekly hair routine. Aesthetics, combined with the ease of distribution that lather brings are pretty much the only reasons to include it. That and the ‘idea’ that a foam present equates to ‘clean’. What do we think about Sulfates? This product is relatively new to me and over the past month it’s what I’ve been using. I like the consistency of the shampoo and that you don’t need too much to wash your hair (and I have a lot currently with my extensions). Used in conjunction with their conditioner, my hair is left lightweight, clean, and hydrated without stripping my skin/scalp of moisture. What I love is that it visibly reduces the appearance of split ends with the clever Biolipids and Camellia oil (which is rich in fatty acids) which help to smooth the cell membranes on the hair. You know some people just have good hair? I’m not one of them. I haven’t the patience to style it and get in a right kerfuffle if I attempt to use my straighteners to do anything other than their intended purpose. How does one get a cute wave with their GHDs? It baffles me. Firstly, the ability to cleanse the skin and hair by attracting oils like sebum and allowing them to be rinsed away with water are just wonderful. Giving you that super clean feeling. Neither this shampoo not the conditioner below contain any silicone, parabens, perfumes or colours and they’re both Asthma & Allergy certified. Fact: it is likely that any ingredient ending in -eth has also been through ethoxylation process too. It’s a great shampoo that cleanses my hair very well without drying out my hair or my scalp. It just smells clean and fresh. I love that it comes in a huge 350ml tube! It will last me ages.

The Olsson Haircare range achieves the perfect balance between managing sensitivity and salon performance. Perfumes, sulphates, parabens, colours and phthalates are almost always present in shampoos, conditioners and washes, which can all result in irritation and allergic reactions so up until now I’ve sacrificed the state and condition of my hair in a bid to avoid my skin and scalp reacting. You get my discount on top of any promotions that they have so make sure to follow Olsson Haircare on social media for their latest offers and promotions. Shampoo Volume is a mild and gentle shampoo, designed to deeply cleanse hair while adding volume to boost fine, lifeless hair. A high-performance formulation yet mild and gentle enough to minimise the risk of an allergic reaction.Balmonds offer a natural shampoo which is free of perfume, soap and SLS’s. It’s light formula doubles up as a body wash and is gentle enough to be used on babies from just 6 weeks. It’s great as it doesn’t contain any of the irritating synthetic nasties those with allergy-prone skin might want to avoid so is our product of choice for my boys weekly post-swim shower. It’s made with herbal extracts and is plant-based with sensitive skin in mind. I love that it’s a multi-purpose wash which means using it in the shower won’t upset the skin on your body as it is so mild and gentle. I love this for my boys as a shampoo and body wash and like to take it to the gym for my post-workout shower product. Kindness to Skin ★★★★★ From the products that I’ve tried so far, the hero product for me is their Sensitive Hairspray! Game.Changed! Developed alongside leading Scandinavian pro hair stylists, it is a medium-hold hairspray with added Pro-Vitamin B5 which offers a flexible hold (which can be brushed through and reworked). I’ve found a little goes a long way so if you just need a little help with flyaway hairs, a light mist will do. Alternatively if you need a stronger hold, you can layer it up to achieve the results. A light spray on my styled hair leaves my hair with a healthy and natural shine and guess what?! No skin reaction!! None. Nada! Whilst it is tested under dermatological control it does contain Linalool/ Limonene which can irritate those with an allergy. Kindness to Skin ★★★★ Since using their shampoo (every three days) my hair has never felt cleaner! The product doesn’t foam up like regular shampoo brands but it doesn’t need to. A little goes a long way and it coats your hair with a few swishes of your wrist. My hair felt smooth and easy to work with after just a few washes.

By including SLES our haircare provides a high-performance foaming, emulsifying and cleanse, as SLS but you will also benefit your skin after use by leaving it feeling silky soft, smooth and nourished. Sodium laureth sulfate, what are the benefits in our formulation? Their Shampoo does contain SLES (Sodium Laureth Sulfate) which many mistake for the harsh one, SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate). The difference being that SLS has beenidentified as a common skin irritant if left on skin for prolonged periods of time.SLES however whilst are derived from SLS go through a process which reorganises the compound making it much kinder to the skin and hair. Unlike SLS, Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) won’t aggravate your scalp or strip it of any excess moisture. Olsson explain it nicely here – SLS and SLES – What’s the difference Kindness to skin ★★★★★ Important:Please note this product does not produce lots of lather (due to a reduction in chemicals that cause this effect) but still cleanses hair and scalp effectively. For years I’ve battled with tresses that needs washing every day. On that note, you have no idea how many times I’ve tried to abstain from a daily hair dousing. You don’t need to tell me that such frequent washing strips oils but seriously if you saw my scalp on day two you too would be running for the shower with shampoo in hand. Shampoo Olsson Haircare is a company who develops and produces a range of hair care products especially designed for people with sensitive skin and for allergy and asthma sufferers. Their product range is Allergy UK certified and free from parabens and perfume. Their products are perfect if you find that conventional beauty and styling products cause itchiness, redness or other allergic reactions. After shampooing, massage a small amount into hair and scalp, working through to the ends that are most prone to damage, so it distributes evenly. For ultimate nourishment, leave on for 1-3 minutes. Rinse well. Style as normal. I’ve been using the products for the past month and honestly love them. Not only does the shampoo leave my hair feeling really clean and soft, it doesn’t leave my scalp feeling dry or tight and more importantly it hasn’t irritated the skin on my body (when it lathers and drops on my skin in the shower!) Yay to no longer having to lean over the bath to wash my hair! My skin is currently going through a healing process after years of damage caused by steroid cream so is even more sensitive than usual so for these products to be ok on my skin really is saying something!
