About this deal

My issue with the Snapdragon 680, at least within this context, is that it struggles to do even the basics smoothly. Whether you’re waking the tablet from sleep, hopping between apps, or simply scrolling through web content, there’s a noticeable lag to everything, with frequent micro-stutters breaking the sense that you’re dealing with a reasonably classy tablet. However, it’s not perfect. Especially the graphics performance could be a good bit better. Therefore, I cannot recommend it as a gaming tablet. It’s also less suitable for working or studying, since there is neither an official keyboard cover nor an active pen.

Competitors usually only have 60Hz. So, animations and even some games can look particularly smooth. The simple Redmi Pad also has a 90 Hz screen, bit the original price is 100 Dollars more. In my battery test, the Redmi Pad SE achieved a runtime of 8.75 hours. That is a very solid result. For this test, I always run an HD YouTube video at maximum brightness in an endless loop. Redmi Pad SE Review: Final Words The performance is good for this price range and it’s a solid lower-mid-range gaming tablet. Overall, it is a great tablet as long as two things don’t bother you.

Communication and GNSS - Bluetooth 5.3 and WiFi 5

We recommend going for the larger 4/128GB memory configuration, since the price premium over the entry-level 64/3GB model is only 10 USD. The latter is just marginally cheaper and does not offer split view for simultaneously running two apps next to each other. Just like the Oppo Pad Air, the Xiaomi Redmi Pad SE runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 680. Just like that rival, it’s not quite enough to provide a sufficiently fluid experience. Xiaomi does everything right with the design. It looks like a typical tablet with a metal case, because that’s what it is. They add their own touch with a large rectangular camera module. It feels premium built, but the transition from display to the body is not as premium as on premium devices. There are four speaker slots punched into the sides and the sound quality is solid. The speakers sound nice and loud. However, the bass is stronger in the S6 Lite in a direct comparison. Still, for YouTube and Netflix, the sound is good. Since the tablet has a Widevine level of L1, you can watch Netflix with HD resolution. Android 12: Three years of updatesThe battery life is surprisingly long at 10 hours, so you could easily watch YouTube for a workday and still have two hours left for the end of the day. For this battery test, I always run an HD YouTube video at maximum brightness in a loop. So, is the Xiaomi Redmi Pad SE a good tablet? Overall, yes. You’ve seen it. We get a high-quality metal chassis, a pretty display that’s quite bright and supports 90Hz, as well as solid speakers and up-to-date software. I also like that we get a relatively large amount of RAM and internal storage. If multitasking is important to you and you would choose the 4GB RAM version anyway, then you are starting to get into the corner of the Xiaomi Pad 5 in terms of pricing. This is an upper mid-range tablet from the same manufacturer with a much better display, much better performance, and better speakers. You can get both an active stylus and a keyboard cover for the Pad 5. It’s very disappointing that the multi-window mode doesn’t work. At least with the 3GB RAM version. It’s also not a good choice if you’re looking for a tablet with an active stylus or a good keyboard cover, as neither are available. We get an 11-inch IPS display on the Redmi Pad SE, which offers a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and a pixel density of 207ppi. That’s less than almost any smartphone, but I think it’s sufficient. FullHD is okay. While the Xiaomi Redmi Pad is a good tablet in the sub-300-USD category, the price is still slightly too high for us to recommend it unequivocally. Meanwhile, the in-house competitor Xiaomi Pad 5 comes with significantly better features, while not being substantially more expensive. It’s a good job the stamina is so strong, because the Redmi Pad SE only supports up to 10W wired charging. For such a large battery, that’s awful, and pretty much necessitates an overnight charge. The front of the tablet looks even more generic, of course, with nothing but a uniform bezel running around an 11-inch display. Those bezels are relatively slim, with the Redmi Pad SE boasting an 84.4% screen-to-body ratio, which pips the Oppo by a single percentage point. Advantages include the premium, lightweight metal case, good 90-Hz IPS display, quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos, and excellent battery life. Although some minor stuttering may occur at times, the performance is solid overall relative to the price and even sufficient for running games.
