About this deal

There are plenty of people buying this combination router set. Those who have bought it, and taken the time to leave a review, have given this model an overall buyer satisfaction rate of 94%. Both of these tools have something to offer that the other does not. For instance, the Makita RT0701C has better RPM, is lighter, and has more included items. The disadvantage is that it has no built-in work light. I used this for first time today. Bought in July 2023. Other than turn it on make sure it works, I haven’t used it. Today I bought some 1/4” bits. This thing is WAY easier to use vs my 1/2” bosch 2.5hp that needs two hands. It’s a beast! This smaller router I can use one hand to do my work, which is 95% roundovers. It starts up slow, a good thing because last thing you want is instant on in a router and it flying to your face/arms/legs etc. nope. The Dewalt DWP611 router is a fantastic tool. It’s easy to set up, easy to adjust, and easy to use. Like most Dewalt products, it’s priced near the top of the category, but it’s not as prohibitively expensive as some other Dewalt products.

Thanks for being a fan of my stuff! The good news is, it only takes 5 seconds to pull the 611 out of the X-Carve and use it as a handheld router! Reply Upgrading the X-Carve to the DeWalt 611 is breeze and only takes about 10 minutes to accomplish. In fact, it took me more time to read the directions than to actually do the upgrade. The DWP611 has a large opening on one side of the body to allow the dust and wood chips to eject from the machine. Unfortunately, this opening is big enough for several fingers to slip into and it is very close to where you hold the machine.

I have that reducer from 1/4″ to 1/8″ but the bit is gets loose. Could you link me to collet that will suite the DEwalt 611 That is where I can help. This article is my review of the very popular DEWALT DWP611PK router combination kit. With this model you do get a fixed base router, and also a plunge router. Makita RT0701C vs DeWalt DWP611… Both of these compact routers are equipped with a 1-1/4-HP motor that promises to “deliver power” to complete tough tasks. What’s the difference? Read along to find out. To remedy this problem, I used some velcro wire-wrap and simply wrapped the 611’s power cord around the drag chain ever four to five inches. That seems to work out fine. Well that all changes today as The Geek Pub’s X-Carve get’s an upgrade from the 24V DC spindle that was included in the original shipment, to the DeWalt 611 router. My X-Carve just went from neat to awesome! The DeWalt DW611 Router as an X-Carve Spindle

The DeWalt DWP611 wins again in this area. LED is important especially when working in a workspace with poor lighting. Depth Adjustment System A compact, or trim router is a rotating cutting tool with a flat base that accepts different sized and shaped bits to cut a specific pattern into wood. These bits can be designed to cut along the edges of a piece of wood, in the middle of the wood, or both. More than likely, the ornate lines of your doors, trim (hence its name), moulding, or baseboard were made with a router. That's a great list, and I'm certain that it's going to help a few of us find the accessories that we want. https://inventables.desk.com/customer/portal/articles/2048678-will-x-carve-work-with-both-110v-and-220v-And i doubt that the one you buy from the USA will work on 240, they are obviously 2 separate products with a single manual (the one shared). One of the standout features of this router is its compact size, which not only makes it highly portable but also easy to maneuver in tight spaces. Despite its small footprint, it doesn't compromise on power. The 1-1/4 HP motor can handle a wide range of routing tasks, from edge profiling to dado cutting, with ease.

The Dewalt DWP611 Compact Router makes niche wood cuts so much easier. The fixed base wiggles slightly Now the link that Mike shared does specify that it works on both but as you said, on Inventables, there are 2 models. This is awesome. I so want one of these X-Carves but I just can’t begin to afford one. I’m sure the DWP611 makes a good spindle though. I have one I use as my day to day go to router and it works really good. DEWALT's reputation for durability and quality is upheld in this router. It's built to last and withstand the demands of a busy workshop. It has become my go-to router for various woodworking projects, and I have complete confidence in its performance. I've seen the teardrop shaped one, and i don't think it's quite wide enough. If the square one is at least 10" it'd likely work, but I'd much prefer a non square shape to allow for easier turning, or spinning, of the router when nearing clamps or other obstructions.

DeWalt DWP611PK 1.25 HP Compact Router Kit Features

Changing the depth of your cut is super easy with the Dewalt compact router. Just unclip a latch, spin the base until the bit is at the necessary depth, and then reclip the latch. No need to loosen a bolt or unscrew a tightening screw, or worse, loosen the collet and adjust the bit itself. I wasn't happy with the edge guide that DeWalt makes for my DW618 routers, and the DNP611 one for the DWP611 is just a smaller version of it. I now have and use a CRB7 for all of my router jig needs when using my DWP611. Shop-Vac brand universal tool adapter 90687 fits the dust collection attachment. It must be cut to fit. Use sections 2 and 3 as shown in attached pic to adapt to a 1-1/4” Shop-Vac hose. Keep collections to yourself or inspire other shoppers! The one I bought can have the force applied anywhere along its length. Congrats on the upgrade! Reply Another fantastic upgrade that comes with the DeWalt 611 is that is has LED lights on the bottom that directly light the surface of your material. This makes it very easy to see what is happening with your materials and the bit (remember to wear safety glasses). This was an unexpected plus I found out after the upgrade! The only downgrade I have found is that you will lose your automatic spindle on/off control. You’ll have to manually turn the router on or off with each operation. And let me tell you, with all the other awesome benefits, this won’t even matter in the bigger picture. Upgrading the X-Carve to the DeWalt 611However, the base has a little bit of play on the screw threads. While this doesn’t seem to affect the cut depth, it is a bit annoying when you’re changing direction and your hands slip an eighth of an inch.
