Albie is playing in his sandpit when "a ferocious wind begins to blow" and he is suddenly transported to Ancient Egypt.Caryl: When we're not stuck at home because of covid, I visit schools around the UK, telling stories and helping children develop a love of books, reading and writing. I also discovered that the ancient Egyptians farmed geese and oxen and used ploughs and sickles for growing and harvesting crops, which included leeks, salad, beans, figs and pomegranates. Ed and I seem to have a kind of telepathy when it comes to creating these stories, so I’m always delighted, but never surprised when I see his illustrations for the first time! Told in first person, each book has a clear and distinct theme, keeping the adventures feeling fresh and leaving you wanting to read more of them. Dad’s talent for popularising led him into TV series, writing books for kids, and circuiting the globe.

The hunt for Claw continues, as does the readers hunt for all the special items set out on the first page. When he helps his mum in the garden by planting some seeds, he can't quite believe his eyes the next morning.

This is then laid out by a designer, then the illustrator, Ed Eaves in this case, will create some rough drawings to fill the pages.
