About this deal

The most fun you can get from a practice amp. Also can be quite loud. Amp controls are logical. Separate input for other music source. Can also act as a Bluetooth speaker. The four banks of presets are arranged into seven amp types: Acoustic, Bass, Clean, Glassy, Crunch, Hi-Gain and Metal. Furthermore, you have full control over the signal chain. You can save your favourite sounds and then assign them to any of the seven amp voices across four preset banks.

Smart Jam is great but we see Auto Chords as a much bigger deal. This listens to a song of your choosing within the app, and if it doesn’t already have the chords for it on its database, it will analyse the song and transpose the chords for you to play along. This amp can really sound expansive and loud, with modelling tech that offers valve-like dynamics in a digital practice amp format Bluetooth, USB and AUX inputs offer all the connectivity options you need from your contemporary desktop digital. The amp also manages Bluetooth Audio connectivity, which enables you to use the unit as a speaker for playing music from a connected device. There’s no Wi-Fi connection, but it isn’t necessary with the app. Spark Mobile App

There is a third-party option available, too, the Airstep from Xsonic, which is wireless and specifically designed for use with this amp – although I haven’t tried that. Spark Amp Auto Chords Of course, you have heard it all before with regards amp integration blah blah, Bluetooth audio streaming yada yada... And sure, the Spark does all that. But the Spark can also analyse a song of your choice from Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube then transpose its chords so you can play along with it. Clever piece of equipment . If someone produces a comprehensive instruction manual they’ll do very well

A mind-blowing portable powerhouse, Spark MINI delivers innovative smart guitar playing to go. With multi-dimensional high-quality sound, all-new Smart Jam, video creation, and Bluetooth® audio streaming, it’s the biggest smallest rig ever. The original THR introduced the concept of the ‘third’ amp in desktop-friendly dimensions. This MKII introduces refined modelling, optional battery power and bluetooth connectivity. Aside from the headline-making connected features, this is essentially a 40W Class-D stereo practice amp. Inside sit a pair of 4-inch custom-designed speakers, and the frequency range spans from 20-20,000Hz. The sound is massive: it can get super-loud and, although the Spark Amp isn’t designed for gigging, is mighty enough to get you through any open mic night in the noisiest bars. Just as importantly, for a practice amp, it sounds great at lower volumes as well. It isn’t a perfect replacement for the effects pedals, though. Sometimes you just need that little stomp to switch from the clean to distorted channel, when playing Smells Like Teen Spirit, for instance.

Certainly, it makes a convincing case for being the ultimate amp for the home. The Spark comes in a compact format, with a pair of 4" speakers offering stereo performance from a unit that weighs just 5.2kg. The hype is real. The Spark is an incredible practice and recording amp, and it is very competitively priced. To be honest, we’d recommend the Spark at this price if that’s all it delivered, but once you factor in those smart features, each encouraging solo players to learn songs and stay inspired, there is no doubt that the Spark is a guaranteed home run. The MINI sounds incredibly detailed for such a small amp – it sounds clichéd, but it is a small wonder.” The set up os very much plug-in-and-play. The app isn't necessary to get started. The dual 4" speakers put out an impressive amount of volume, and a deeper than expected voice. The headphones output is handy for silent practice. Modelling tech typically lives or dies on its ability to imitate a valve-amp response, and the Spark does an excellent job of this. The amp might be avowedly digital but it knows how to communicate with organic matter such we guitar players. Credit is provided by a panel of lenders with whom we have a commercial relationship (so we cannot provide independent advice).Simply plug the Spark into your computer via USB to access its recording capabilities. With a free copy of PreSonus Studio One Prime included, you have all you need to get started. Then you have to consider the idea that the Spark isn’t just an amp. At least, not in the conventional sense. You can design your own signal chain then save those choices into one of seven amp voices across the four preset banks. It might take a while; not because it’s difficult, but it is easy to get carried away with so many tonal possibilities.

The great thing about this is you’re not limited to how the tone is configured. Every knob on the amp is adjustable via the touchscreen by swiping up and down on it (hence the reason the tablet app is preferable). As is every knob and switch on the effects pedals in the array. And, if you don’t want the delay or reverb at all, you can swipe up to turn that pedal off completely. TOP CONTROLS: Amp Type, Gain, Bass, Mid, Treble, Master, Mod, Delay, Reverb, Output Volume, Music Volume, four programmable Preset buttons, Tap/Tuner button This is a paradigm shift for the digital desktop amplifiers. The Spark 40 makes you want to play more, and it has the tools to make you better. Even without that, it offers a great-sounding and tweakable digital amp experience, with recording capabilities too. Please try to update the firmware with a different computer if attempts to update the firmware keep failing. Still can't get used to the drop in volume when switching presets or touching any of the controls. When I power on the unit, I get a decent sound level from whatever default settings I have. But switching to another preset, or adjusting the gain control cuts the volume quite noticeably. A fully wireless 30-watt amp that includes a bluetooth transmitter for your guitar. Boss’s Tone Studio app offers 50 effects with COSM modelling and impressive amp voices. The barrel plug into the amp is: outside 5,5mm and inside 2,5mm. If this doesn't fit your amp, you have a different (later?) model TYPE: Digital modelling combo for guitar, bass and acoustic with BIAS Tone Engine and app integration for jamming
