C. Charge the battery at the recommended charge rate. If you cannot set the recommended rate, extend or reduce the charging time on a pro rata basis. Short Circuit/dead cells seen in later life are usually associated with the recovery of a sulphated/overdischarged battery. It is possible to see variable acid specific gravities between cells if sulphation is the route cause.

Constant Current Chargers

A. Boost charging is not recommended except in exceptional circumstances e.g. a stranded customer, as this will reduce battery life, especially if a battery is boost-charged more than once.
