We bought this seat in March 2007 when my older daughter was 3 and weighed around 33lbs as our previous one had just given up. It was marketed as the safest non-Isofix seat on the market in the UK, and I believe is still very highly rated. We were very pleased with it and used it for about 6 months until she was ready for a booster seat. GROUP 2/3 CAR SEAT: an ECE R44/04 certified car seat that can be used for children from approx. 3.5 to 12 years (15 to 36 kg) The indicator serves only as a reminder that the belts must be tightened securely before every trip. Good thing my DD is 4 now so she doesn't need this. I don't know if Maxi Cosi has solved this problem with the new ones but I don't know why they did this in the first place.
