What you get from the receiver can be understood from the VSX-935 specifications. And they are impressive for its price. It can deliver 80 watts per channel (8 ohms, 20 Hz-20 kHz, THD 0.08%, 2ch Driven, FTC) and 170 watts per channel (6 ohms, 1 kHz, THD 10%, 1ch Driven). With 7 channels of built-in amplification (80w@8ohm), you have many ways of configuring the receiver using a very intuitive graphical interface to dial in the setup. This includes traditional 7.1 surround, 5.1.2 Atmos/DTX-X setup, or even height channel setup similar to Auro 3D. You simply have to tell the system where your speakers are physically located and the rest is done automatically, including during room correction analysis. If the content is not mixed in Dolby Atmos then the Dolby surround upmixer will expand the audio to all channels including ceiling speakers.
