Vampire Knight began as a shojo manga serialized in Hakusensha's LaLa magazine on November 24, 2004. The original manga series ended in May 2013, and a sequel Vampire Knight: Memories is currently being published in LaLa DX. In 2008, it had a two-season anime adaptation, with the second season titled Vampire Knight: Guilty. In 2015, it had a musical adaptation, with the second run titled Vampire Knight - Revive. Since the manga's conclusion, Hino began releasing a series of special chapters, which take place after the end of the final volume.
