About this deal

It opens up with a bit strong soapy, fresh spicy, herbal, floral and spices notes in the background then dry down is semi sweet warm spicy, Balsamic, Tobacco and woody.

Boss Number One then comes to a close with warming base notes of amber, sandalwood, musk, cinnamon, tobacco and patchouli. If you do not update your preferences, we will assume that you are happy to receive amazing offers and news. To me, this fragrance shares similarities with Calvin Klein's Obsession for men but with a little more complexity. You get a very lovable dry down with a very strong sweet tobacco, oak moss, sandalwood, patchouli and musk - the inevitable 5 of the 80's.

Additionally, the scent nebula formed in the first few minutes resembles that of Boucheron Pour Homme's. The Hugo Boss Classic, or Number 1, was a projection beast that would last at least 8-10 hours on me.Its a heavy scent with base notes of musk, patchouli and tobacco but you can get the floral overtones too. Personal opinion: it's the green apple that people don't like in the opening, and I am one of those people, it's a random and unpleasant tartness right out of the gate, I don't pretend to know what Boss was thinking with that.

I just grabbed a bottle of this because I thought this retro scent profile would be a unique addition to my collection, and it definitely is! Can you imagine a small, slim, shy 14 year old boy walking into class smelling of the original Boss No1?Now, I have both the original and reformulated side-by-side here, and although almost everyone is saying they are extremely different, I would have to differ.

It has the masculine gruff, but is smooth, refined and because of that perhaps, makes it more mature than other macho scents such as say Drakkar Noir or Fahrenheit (which niether smells similar). Note: The pros and cons listed on this page have been generated using the artificial intelligence system, which analyzes product reviews submitted by our members. Last Summer I went through my huge fragrance collection and found some oldies that were wasted after so many years exposed to light. I find I detect those aspects - particularly the honey and the jasmine coming to the fore very early on. I feel this formula is more approachable and can be appreciated by people of all tastes and ages compared to the old formula.Sad because they just don't make perfumes with depth and complexity like this anymore and marveled that they reached what could have been the pinnacle of perfumery in the 80s!
