About this deal

The author also built the portrait of young Casey very well. A bit of a lost young girl who finds herself in a pathological situation from which she cannot escape. I loved how complicated her situation is and that Casey realizes it. I liked that this part of the story is not devoid of some reflection from the perspective of what happened next, and that Rachel herself tries to evaluate her actions and feelings at the time. I Know You, by Claire McGowan is my first foray into this author’s work – it’s a wonderful 4.5-star effort. I was considering giving it 5-stars but, I need to have some wriggle room if any subsequent reads by McGowan are better. Yes, this was that good!

Berardinelli, James (1997). "Review: I Know What You Did Last Summer". Reel Views. Archived from the original on October 12, 2007.Now she’s petrified someone knows about the death of young girl she caused many years ago and the incident she ran away from is following her. After that, we’re off and running through a pacy plot offering plenty of potential killer-candidates, before the gang’s focus narrows to one seeming impossibility, and inventive deaths (I’d avert your eyes from Coach Eric – you’ll know when). There are plenty of blood and guts besides (we begin with a dripping goat head in a wardrobe and escalate rapidly from there), and a lightly-S&M relationship between Allison and Lennon’s father and the local police chief that, given the number of secrets the former is carrying about his daughters, would seem ill-advised. What's it about? Ruby Marshall is starting a new school a couple of weeks into her GCSE year. Ruby has had problems. When she was four, she was responsible for the death of a little girl, and it has followed her ever since. She was aggressive and often got into trouble at her old school, and after a memorial garden for the little girl was vandalised, suspicion fell on Ruby again. Now she and her mother have moved a little bit further away, and Ruby is determined to keep her head down and just get on with her exams. I know you did it is a fiction novel, very similar to the book and tv series one of us is lying, based in a school where a series of deaths happen, it is very much a murder mystery book I would say the book would be targeted to more of a teenage audience than older adult.

J'ADORE. 4.5/5 stars only because the "reveal" was obvious from the start. However, Claire's writing, character-building, and the original storyline kept me engaged. The second, tells the story of Rachel, in present day England. Rachel works at a dog shelter; she lives on her own and is having an affair with a married man called Alex. Their relationship is full of passion and she is madly in love with him. Alex has not divorced his wife Anna at this stage, and Anna is not happy Rachel is seeing her husband. Again, things go pear-shaped. Enough said. But, when the wife of her lover is murdered and her belongings are found near the crime scene, Rachel realizes she is being framed. I felt the end was a lil bit of a reach... Maybe more than a lil bit. Overall, I was hooked by the exploration of familicide and challenging the theory "where there's smoke, there's fire." That was actually really, really good. The book grabs you right from the start and doesn’t let you go until the very end. Poor Casey never had a chance with her useless mother, Jenna, filling her head with rubbish. It’s 2000 as she heads off to LA at the tender age of 19 to be a nanny to a ‘Hollywood couple’ with the hope of breaking into the industry at some point. So she ended up, little more than a child herself, looking after 5 year old Madison and 6 month old Carson.

Settings always play a key role in Sue Wallman's books and this one is no different. At first it may seem like your average secondary school setting, but it is written with a lot of detail and in a way that many readers will find relatable. Furthermore, the writing in general is engaging and gripping from start to finish. Other than that, I Know You was a nice, engaging thriller that I’m sure many people would enjoy very much. Prior to Scream (1996), Williamson was approached to adapt Duncan's source novel by producer Erik Feig. Where Williamson's screenplay for Scream contained prominent elements of satire and self-referentiality, his adaptation of I Know What You Did Last Summer reworked the novel's central plot to resemble a straightforward 1980s-era slasher film. [6] After the success of Scream, the film was rushed into production. A story that follows a high school student exploring the struggles of moving schools and even a murderer on the loose.Unnithan, Sandeep (January 20, 2003). "Bollywood spews host of new genres, thrillers and their sub-genres". India Today . Retrieved December 4, 2021. Movie historian Leonard Maltin gave the film 2 out of a possible 4 stars; he described it as "...Too routine to succeed overall...Despite being based on a young-adult novel, this is absolutely not for kids. Still, it's a classic compared to the sequel." [44] I feel I had worked out quite early on who was responsible for the murders, and was quite smug, until the twist at the end. It was such a great read, I can't wait to read more of her books! But the police are going door-to-door asking questions and trying to locate witnesses. Rachel lies like her hair is on fire. But eventually, the truth always floats to the surface.
