This smell complements mowing a lawn or chopping wood so well, it's an intense lumberjack kind of scent.

I spray myself and leave for work, by the time I get there (30mins) smell is non existent on clothes and body. The first, because what use is a fragrance people hate you wearing, even when wearing it for yourself? When I smell it I get a lump in the back of my throat like I’m trying not to gag, it’s a very physical reaction. THE SCENT: cypress wood is very prominent in opening it’s l reminiscent of wooden furniture to me, dry earthy grassy hay-like vetiver is the main star of the show, I don’t pick up on incense personally, something has a nutty quality to it, very heavy in patchouli from start to finish. I'd recommend it up until temperatures outdoors start overtaking room temperature by a few centigrade. The first hour you get nice projection then it goes close to the skin and later on kind of comes back for some reason, which is odd but cool too. Has a whiskey note which isn’t in black afgano but doesn’t have the hashtag note which black Afgano does have.

Smells a lot like olibanum (frankincense) that hasn't been burned, of course along with vetiver and incense that remain from the opening. Before using your Lalique product, please read the list of ingredients located on the packaging to be certain that the ingredients are suitable for your personal use. That said, in my younger years I was pretty big into metal, the more gothic, darker and forestry kinds.If a girl wears this with my eyes blindfolded, it kinda give this depiction of gothic youthful girl wearing full black or maybe a grown woman with a villain vibe to it, to put it simple she may look dangerous and unusual for some man, but me personally, I'll be pretty attracted to her, it gives her this dark yet comforting, mysterious yet charismatic vibe. It does however calm down after an hour or so to reveal a nicely blended, high quality, deep smoky vetiver scent with the orris and resins playing a big part. The Eau de Parfum Spray Encre Noire à l'Extrême was composed as a homage to a classic fragrance by Lalique. Definitely get the pencil shaving vibe but there's just so much more going on that it's classy pencil shavings. I don't see this getting much use in the Summertime unless I'm camping but it's performing great in Winter and has a very comfy feel about it.

While to my nose, Encre Noire Sport felt like sitting in a saw mill filled with freshly cut, dry lumber, the woods in this flanker feel somewhat damp, and give the scent a sense of darkness that I'd most likely associate with a grey sky, chilly/cold weather and a bit of wind. Update- after a couple weeks- it is growing on me- The dry down is where it shines and the hints of Orris/ Iris.Encre Noire à l’Extrême plays on contrasts to express every facet of masculinity through powerful, seductive accords. It's a tiny bit better because of that spicy kick which makes it less one dimensional and linear than the original, but it's not worlds apart. It contains notes of incense, vetiver, cypress, patchouli, elemi resin, orris root, sandalwood and benzoin. This is probably part of the reason why most reviews give such a off impression of the fragrance (probably including mine). This as an intensified and enriched version of the famous original Encre Noir and adds a extra layer of depth and seductive intrigue to the rich woody formula which and gained so much acclaim from fragrance aficionados.
