Flooded is the funny and beautifully illustrated tale of animals who live in a city that is ever so slowly flooding. Working with a limited colour palette and negative space is one of the elements that make Flooded such a success.

The drawings and diversity of the animal kingdom will keep younger minds guessing and pointing out different characters on each reading. Yourself and Bob are much cherished in our booky world and I personally really appreciate everything that you do. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. She completed her MA in Children's Illustration from the prestigious Cambridge Anglia Ruskin course in April 2021.

The hippo leaving the taps open is a bit reminiscent of the early development when I was building the story and I was questioning why the city became flooded. These cookies help provide information on metrics the number of visitors, bounce rate, traffic source, etc. This book is full of surprises and has a pull-out page at a very significant part of the story, which really creates excitement for younger children as they are reading the book.Funnily enough, when I started working on Flooded I wasn’t thinking about writing a story about climate change. An interesting part of the story is not only seeing how quickly a situation can spiral out of control but also how the larger animals are quite happy to ignore the problem until it becomes a problem for them - so lots of parallels with real life.
