About this deal

Whilst Alan hasn’t really had any negative press or any scandals, this book does delve into his partner’s alcoholism and about the struggles it had on their relationship.

I wanted to finish this because a colleague lent this to me thinking I'd love it and I don't have the heart to tell her how much I hate it, so I wanted to know all the anecdotes so that I can pretend-laugh about stuff with her. He peels off into a story – there’s a celebrity anecdote for every occasion – about how he was at Rylan’s house, skinny-dipping. His unique humour and effortless stage presence have earned him a catalogue of awards including Best Chat Show host at the publicly voted for 2015 National Television Awards, winner of the 2013 BAFTA for Best Entertainment Performance and 2013 British Comedy Award for Best Comedy Entertainment Personality.Balding, myopic, often flaky with psoriasis, back fat that hangs suspended like a cape, a voice that could strip varnish, an increasingly dodgy hip and even dodgier teeth. The DVD of Alan's 2007 debut stand-up show, 'Tooth Fairy Live' topped the HMV charts and was a Christmas 2007 top seller. Guests from past series include: Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Cameron Diaz, Vin Diesel, Adele, Grace Jones, Naomi Campbell, Hugh Grant, Drew Barrymore, Robin Williams, David Walliams, Mariah Carey, Russell Brand, Samuel L Jackson, Miley Cyrus, Robbie Williams, Bette Midler, Sharon Osbourne, One Direction, Gok Wan and Miranda Hart. He lived in Chorlton-cum-Hardy after which he moved to Stretford, which he cites as an inspiration for his comedic work.

Michael Jackson has just died, so it was pretty much wall to (off the) wall Michael Biographys, with that rubbish book Twilight which subsequently became a rubbish film and this "Look Who It Is!

I remember telling my Mum about the time I stopped that woman from having a diamond encrusted necklace stolen and she'd say 'No Alan, that was Poirot. In the past, he’d never watch his own appearances – not even one episode of Chatty Man – because he hated his looks. I was extremely lucky to have worked so closely with him since 1998 and was honoured that he asked me to carry on his work". Like I said not quite the laugh out loud book that I thought this'd be but a nice quick read not-the-less. Some people get famous because they want their own plane, some want their own chatshow, some people do it so they can talk to women like shit.
