About this deal

We play BINGO a lot in our house and we love to circle in this one and add it to our list. The kids really like to see the different types of animals that are living in the ocean. Educational games are not only fun for kids, but allow them to practice important skills. From communication and making observations, to following directions. Playing Bingo is one of our favorite games. Everyone can play and it’s easy to set up! Grab the free printable bingo cards at the bottom of the post.

Use candy or non-candy items as markers. When the image is called out, the player puts a marker on that image. There are a few different patterns players can make on their cards to get bingo. Straight in a line up or down, and even diagonal across the card. You can use bingo daubers to mark the spots you get or you can use buttons, beans or even shells would be a fun option. You can play for a line (5 in a row) or a full card. The first person to get a line says “Bingo!”. You can keep playing afterwards for more lines if you have more prizes to give out. There are 30 calling cards to choose from so a full card may result in having a few people winning at the same time depending on the number of players. We recommend playing mostly for lines because of this. Mix up the cards and start a new game after a few lines have been won. Your class will have lots of fun with this ocean bingo set. You’ll find all sorts of sea creatures on these cards including dolphins, squids, whales, pufferfish and more! There are so many fun ways to use both the bingo set and the lotto set. There are colour counters, picture boards, lotto cards, word boards, word cards to play bingo as a whole class or in small groups. You can also use the picture cards for a fun matching game. There are so many possibilities with this brilliant resource. When walking the coast you may find snails, crabs, and seaweed within tide pools or along the shore. Whereas to see whales, octopus, and sea turtles you have to go into the ocean. For example, if I was the caller and I pulled out the red crab picture everyone with a red crab on their board would place a bingo marker over the picture. This fun free animal bingo game is the perfect game to add to your collection at home or in the classroom! Grab yours now! It would be fun to talk about where each animal and algae lives in the ocean. If possible head out to the coast and see the marine life in person. Skills to Practice Your children could get their creative swimming caps on and write some ocean themed poetry using these acrostic poem templates. These would be a fantastic addition to your underwater themed display wall. There are so many ways you can spice up this game! Just add some little prizes for the bingo winners. Some of my favorites for Ocean Bingo are these super cute mini stuffed animals. The ultimate winner could choose the dessert for the night if you choose. A great option is to laminate the set. I have this at home laminator and it works great. An alternative is to use clear plastic sleeves to protect the bingo cards. How to Play On the right side of the shelf ( book on a wooden cookbook holder), I have National Geographic Kids Ultimate Oceanpedia (gorgeous photos and a fabulous reference book! ).

I always have related books available throughout a unit. On the top shelf, I have Steve Jenkins’ Down Down Down (an amazing book and one of Zoey’s very favorite books), The Big Book of the Blue (lovely!), and Ocean: a Photicular Book (see below). Pencil or Markers: You can have kids cross out the spots with a marker or a dot marker. If you laminate the cards you can also use dry erase markers.
