About this deal

The quality of ingredients really shines through and I would recommend this gin for a pleasant change from the norm! A vibrant and heavily citrus-forward expression, it is definitely a gin for those looking to leave the well beaten path of juniper heavy spirit. If you do require precise ingredient information you should consult the manufacturer, whose contact details will appear on the packaging or label.

MALFY® Gin Con Limone marries the finest Italian coastal lemons with our family’s unique gin recipe to create a one-of-a kind spirit. This may affect nutrition and allergen information therefore you should always check product labels and not rely solely on the information presented here.

Immerse yourself in the zesty and refreshing flavours of Malfy Con Limone Gin, a delightful Italian gin that captures the essence of Mediterranean lemons. So when I was looking to test something new this week, this bottle with the bright blue and yellow label caught my eye.

Malfy Gin is the perfect gift to offer for a Christmas present, or for anniversaries, birthdays, Mother’s Day, Father's Day and other special occasions. With lemon peels from Sicily and the Amalfi Coast, it is reminiscent of limoncello to taste but the traditional gin elements are all there too if you look beyond the lemon.

The individual distillates are then artfully blended together and cut with Italian water to create our fruit forward style gins. I may from time to time choose to do a second review and amend my opinion of a product, should I feel like it and find my review criteria has evolved, or that I’ve found it different at a later date. Run by the Vergnano family, Malfy Gin is distilled in a modern stainless steel still at the Torino Distillati near Turin - an area and distillery with a long history of spirit, wine and liqueur production. Add vermouth, tonic or a sparkling mixer to bring the core gin botanicals back to the flavour profile of a long drink, or, sip neat for nostalgic notes of sunny days abroad. This is a relatively new technique in the world of gin production, enabling a lower temperature to achieve evaporation and therefore not altering the composition of botanicals (avoiding heat-related degradation), this way we can keep our botanicals fresh and flavourful.

While the flavor was good, due to its strength it was much better in a more traditional martini, but not great in a dry one. The infusion is then blended with the juniper and other botanicals before being distilled in a stainless steel vacuum still. Whether enjoyed in classic cocktails, mixed with tonic, or simply on the rocks, this gin is sure to transport you to the sun-soaked shores of Italy. Best served simply with Mediterranean tonic and a lemon wheel on ice, or why not try making the Ciao Malfy Spritz cocktail?Straight, without ice this gin has a very rough edge, but that smooths and dulls as the gin dilutes a touch. While we have taken care in preparing this summary and believe it is accurate, it is not a substitute for your reading the product packaging and label prior to use.

About: Distilled in Italy using some of the finest botanicals including hanpicked juniper, Italian sun-ripened lemons and Amalfi lemon peel. It’s fresh and light, and perfect for a hot summer day, either as a martini, or with tonic, or sparkling water - but this is so far from a traditional mixing gin that it’s hard to say that it will be easy to adapt to many cocktails. What is so exciting about a country that embraces the concept of “terroir” (the taste of a place) in their wines, is that Italian gins also represent the taste of the locality.Your wasting your time if your drinking it with a Full Fever Tree tonic however like some of those below, way to much quinine that completely drowns the light and delicate flavours of the gin. The signature botanical is, perhaps unsurprisingly, lemon peel, from both the Amalfi Coast and Sicily. What you need to know about reviews: All my reviews are my honest opinions based upon my own personal tasting. That said, as I’m unlikely to repurchase anything I thought was less than very good to excellent, it would be by chance or at the request of a distiller who thought I rated them very unfairly - BUT even then, whatever you get will always be my honest opinion.
