When it says you should use 50% of your max weight, and your max is 100 pounds on the exercise, you would be using 50 pounds (100 times .5 = 50). If it is 35% of your max, you would use 35 pounds (100 times .35 = 35). A person should always follow the directions provided with the product to ensure they use it correctly.
