150th Anniversary Celebrations | Rangers Football Club
Now, this will upset a few of the usual suspects, won’t it? That much is very predictable but that’s where any thoughts of those on the outside should stay. The Tartan Army will don the classy kit for that match and it will also be worn for their Euro qualifying double header with Cyprus and Spain this month too. It is similar to the current one, but will have a scroll underneath which says: "150 years" and will also have "1872" and "2022" on either side of it. The Gallant Pioneers kit has been incredibly popular with supporters already this season and in anticipation of our birthday weekend, Castore will release a PRO edition of this kit which will be presented in a luxury, limited-edition gift box. Rangers will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of the European Cup Winners Cup victory during 2022.

The club, formed in 1872 have a series of huge events lined up to mark the momentous anniversary, including the opening of a stunning new museum at Edmiston House. Rangers fans will get the chance to see club legends such as Paul Gascoigne, Kris Boyd, Michael Mols, Sasa Papac and Nikica Jelavic. Forever proud of our origins, it was important to launch a crest that upholds the Rangers values and details which are symbolic to the club. IN March 2022, it will be exactly 150 years since four young boys – Moses McNeil, Peter McNeil, William McBeath and Peter Campbell – followed their dream to start a football team and begin an adventure within the new, emerging world of association football. It features both the old-fashioned Lion Rampant crest and Adidas badge, with the iconic three stripes on the sleeve which are the same colour as the rest of the top. The anniversary will form a year-long celebration of commemorative events, fan engagement, exciting activations, and the unveiling of Edmiston House - the club’s new, state-of-the-art, multi-purpose venue which includes event space, a Rangers museum and new Castore retail store.As an extra special touch, the words “Gallant Pioneers” have been embossed into the fabric to immortalise the great Bill Struth’s quote:“No matter the days of anxiety that come our way, we shall emerge stronger because of the trials to be overcome. That has been the philosophy of the Rangers since the days of the gallant pioneers.” A 150th anniversary Fan Village will be created at Ibrox stadium for the Aberdeen, Weekend of Legends, and Celtic fixtures, with a wide range of activities planned for all the family. The Fan Village will include a number of activations, including live entertainment, a pop-up museum exhibition and football activities. As announced in this month’s MyGers newsletter, our junior supporters can win the chance to celebrate another important birthday – Broxi’s! We will be hosting a MyGers exclusive party that will allow our youngest fans to celebrate the club turning 150 with Broxi Bear.
