About this deal

When she reaches school age, her mum wants her to attend fairy school, where lessons include wand waving, dancing and making flower garlands. She grew up in Hitchin in Hertfordshire and now lives with her husband and daughter near some beautiful countryside in Bedfordshire, England. The illustrations are a mix of black and white sketches and colorful spreads, and they help to bring the magical world of Isadora Moon to life. After reading the Mercy Watson series and then the Princess in Black series, both of which my 4 (almost 5) year old granddaughter adored (carries them with her wherever she goes and soon had them memorized so “reads” them to herself now), I had trouble finding other age-appropriate chapter books that still have pictures to hold her interest (she enjoys picture books still, but prefers chapter books, when we can find). For example, in Isadora Moon Meets the Tooth Fairy, when Isadora loses her first tooth, she is excited to meet the Tooth Fairy and learns that the Tooth Fairy is in need of her help.

Of course, she’s half-vampire and half-fairy and I haven’t really gone into how long either of those magical creatures live for, so maybe Isadora is actually 107! Harriet is a graduate of the Cambridge MA in Children's Illustration, and is the illustrator of Parragon's Glitterbelle books, as well as her own I Am a Witch's Cat, and Happy Halloween, Witch's Cat!These books offer a fun and interactive way for children to engage with the series and learn more about Isadora and her world. When it's time for Isadora to start school she's not sure where she belongs – vampire school or fairy school? Should she soon carry these around with her (though lack of glossy pages with colored pictures may keep these from being a top contender), I’ll consider it a real win! Isadora Moon is half fairy, half-vampire and each book in the series follows her adventures with friends and family.

Another aspect of the Isadora Moon series that is sure to delight young readers is the beautiful illustrations. These cookies help provide information on metrics the number of visitors, bounce rate, traffic source, etc. Isadora tries out each school, with their very different priorities and curriculums, and in the process answers some important questions about her own heritage and identity. They get into scrapes together, bake some poisonous cakes, almost ruin their school assembly and finally have a twintastic birthday party. Perfect for fans of Claude, Dixie O'Day, and Squishy McFluff, Isadora Moon is the ideal choice for readers who want their magic and sparkle with a bit of bite! The Isadora Moon series won the El Corte Inglés Children's Book of the Year in 2019 and has sold over 4 million copies worldwide.
