Sunday Morning Live will be turning the spotlight on how churchyards, as well as other religious spaces, can make a difference.

The five part series will have an introductory episode, explaining why Britain and Ireland are globally important for nature, while the remaining four episodes will celebrate our isles’ four key habitats - woodlands, grasslands, freshwater and marine. Jack Bootle, Head of Commissioning, Science and Natural History, said: “The multi-award winning team at Silverback are creating an eye-opening celebration of British and Irish wildlife that has to be seen to be believed. These master images could then be transitioned from colour to thermal to take the viewer from what we humans see and what really is going on with the flower.She has worked with film crews in Britain and abroad, in the field and in studios to produce a variety of programmes including the Really Wild Show (BAFTA), Wildlife on One, Bill Oddie Goes Wild and David Attenborough’s Life in Cold Blood (BAFTA). Filmed over the course of three years, this new five-part series will investigate how our woodland, grassland, freshwater and ocean habitats support wildlife of all kinds. The RSPB is protecting habitats, saving species and helping to end the nature and climate emergency.

Silverback Films was commissioned by the BBC to create the series, with co-production and part funding from the RSPB, World Wide Fund for Nature and Open University. Wild Isles makes many claims for these isles’ exceptional nature, from the mighty oaks to the chalk streams that are one of the rarest habitats on Earth. White-tailed eagles hunting is a behaviour rarely seen in the wild and only snippets of this had ever been filmed before. Each year on the east coast of Scotland, 75,000 pairs of gannets arrive on Bass Rock to nest*, forming the biggest colony of northern gannets in the world.After attaining his Zoology BSc at the University of Edinburgh, Chris had no idea what to do with it so moved to Bristol to see whether working in natural history television might be the answer. Countryfile will be showing audiences how to do their bit to help save wildlife with Wild Britain, following on from their hugely successful Plant Britain initiative.
